She’s beauty and danger in one breath.

Mami Wata the water spirit said to live in rivers and seas across Africa. Some call her a goddess, others say she is a warning.

They say she appears as a striking woman by the water’s edge, hair glistening, eyes deep as the current, a mirror in her hand. To meet her gaze is to face your own reflection, desire, fear, and power, all at once.

This one’s a personal favourite from my childhood, a story that always felt larger than life, and somehow, deeply familiar.

This image reimagines her not as fantasy, but as the woman behind the legend, calm, powerful, and impossibly real.

When night falls in Western Kenya, the world goes still, except for his footsteps.

They call them Night Runners, men and women who run through villages at midnight, barefoot, silent, and unseen.
Some say it’s a curse. Others, a choice.

No one really knows why they run, only that you’ll hear them before you ever see them, stones tapping on tin roofs, laughter echoing through the dark.

Every girl growing up in South Africa in the 90s knew her name. Pinky Pinky, half myth, half mirror, a story whispered in school bathrooms and locker rooms.

They said she appeared to girls who wore pink underwear.
That she hid in mirrors. That she wasn’t just a monster she was the shape of unspoken fear.

What started as a rumour became something more: a reflection of safety, silence, and the stories girls carry when no one’s listening.

Soft light on cold tiles, pink against shadow, real, raw, and rooted in truth.

You never forget the sound of her heels. Koikoi… koikoi…
Each step echoing through dim hallways long after lights-out.

They say Madam Koi Koi was once a beautiful teacher, graceful, strict, and gone too soon.
Now, students swear they still hear her walking the corridors at night, red heels tapping softly against the floor. Some say she’s looking for justice. Others say it’s just for peace.

A story every boarding school girl in West Africa has heard at least once.

They say some journeys aren’t meant to be taken twice.

Across South Africa, whispers tell of a vanishing minibus, the kind that appears late at night on quiet roads, headlights low, engine barely humming. Passengers climb in… but never arrive. By morning, only their belongings are found.

Some believe it’s the spirits of those lost in old taxi accidents, still running their routes.
Others say it’s a warning that not every ride that stops for you is meant for the living.

Shot in warm dusk tones, this image tells the story of what lingers between here and gone.
A moment caught in motion where light fades, and the line between real and remembered begins to blur.

We as Africans might not be all that into Halloween, but Africa has always had stories that make the night feel a little longer.
Whispers that move through corridors, markets, and quiet streets.
Legends born from truth, fear, and imagination, each one carrying a piece of the continent’s imagination.

This mini-collection reimagines six African urban legends through a cinematic, realistic lens, told not with fantasy, but through light, texture, and human expression.

First up: The Snake Man of Lagos.

They say he lives beneath the city, a man who once chased wealth so fiercely, he lost his form. Now he’s said to appear after dark, eyes glinting like scales under the streetlight.
Some call him a warning, others a myth, but every legend starts with someone who saw something they can’t forget.

A little seasonal skin moment ✨

Shot this flatlay featuring a few of my personal go-tos, the textures, tones, and reflections just felt right for this time of year, because you know....autumn weather

Oju Omi Cleansing Mud - my ritual reset.

Rejuvenating Scalp Scrub - because scalp is skin too.

Max Glow Getter Serum - that dewy, glassy glow in a bottle.

Lip Gloss - subtle shine, all day comfort.

Yummy Skin Tint - skin that still looks like skin.

Butta Drop - buttery moisture made for weather shifts.

This shot’s part of a personal project I’ve been working on, capturing the feel of my beauty shelf through light, water, and movement. Because the products we reach for the most deserve to look as good as they make us feel.

You’re not doomed to keep getting bad AI photos. You’re just missing this 👇

Let’s be honest, if your AI shots keep coming out weird or “off,” it’s not that the AI hates you 😅 It’s just following the directions it’s given.

Once you start directing AI like a real photoshoo, thinking about lighting, angles, poses, and the overall vibe, your results start to glow.

AI isn’t here to replace your eye, it’s here to amplify it. You’re still the creative director, babe.

"Woven Grace" from the “Glow From My Ancestors” Series

Braids that speak in patterns, a visual language of patience, skill, and quiet strength.
Each section crafted with intention, each line connecting past and present like threads of identity.

This is Woven Grace, where geometry meets soul, and heritage meets evolution.
It’s not just hair, it’s history, mapped and mastered.

Because grace isn’t about softness, it’s about knowing your roots and wearing it beautifully.

"Cowrie Flow" from the “Glow From My Ancestors” Series

Bold. Graceful. Rooted.
These braids carry stories that stretch far beyond style, they speak of oceans crossed, kingdoms built, and beauty that never bowed.

Each shell whispers of wealth, spirituality, and strength, symbols once traded as currency, now worn as confidence.
This is power redefined, a crown that glows, grounded in history yet alive in the now.

Because when we adorn ourselves,
we’re not just getting ready, we’re remembering who we are.
