Last night’s video? Oh, honey, it was all about THAT SPRAY GIRL. You know, the one everyone’s buzzing about. And before you roll your eyes, yes, it’s from the P&D Show—the one hardly anyone watched because, let’s be honest, it was longer than a biblical epic. Moses himself would’ve tapped out halfway.

But fear not! I’ve done the hard graft for you, sifted through the endless footage, and pulled out the real gems. Think Sharron’s one-on-one interview—pure gold, darling! I’ve turned it into her own mini-documentary, and trust me, it’s an interesting watch. And no, when I say “watch,” I don’t mean an Audemars Piguet. Though, maybe one day I’ll treat myself. On a building site - and I’m NOT the painter!!

I am feeling good about this - I can admire someone else’s work whilst I was lucky to visit this site in Winslow today without wearing the painting whites or getting one single speck of paint on me!

From the moment I walked in the finish was clean and neat- beautiful choice of black hinges and door furniture and an evidently lovely project put together by a great team led by Winstanley Construction in Leighton Buzzard.

It’s rare I can go around a whole detached house and only pick out one thing that jumped out at me … because I’m obsessed with an exacting high standard 🤭

Maybe I will be allowed to show you more about these beauties soon!

Fun Friday Laughs …!

That face I get when he’s like ‘Errr yeah Mum … I know!! 🤣

This was SUPPOSED to be a selfie shot whilst instructing how to mask a bathroom quickly and speedily but when I started explaining- I get that look like ‘How many times have we done this’!? 😅🤣 The fits of laughter we had!! It was so impromptu and organic I wanted to share 😃

🙏 These are the moments I feel so lucky that I am Josh’s Mum 🙏

What a fine young man and not only that he is good looking, extremely intelligent, super funny, is an absolutely fantastic worker even when we are up against the clock and deadlines he remains calm under pressure and helps me to get through the hard jobs never once complaining or utterance of negativity. I am truly grateful for him and his tenacity even when he has to do things he doesn’t enjoy. He never wanted to be a decorator and we have really only borrowed him for a while but what an asset he is. He truly is an outstanding employee AND he even let me listen to Country music ALL week 🥰💕😎🤭 - turns out he was a Chris Stapleton fan all along - my work is done 🤣

💨 Breathe Easy - Work Hard 💨

It’s about time this one featured on our page! We are loving this bad boy and beyond grateful for our MaxVac DB650. We think of it as the happy humming but silent hero keeping our air clean and our team and clients protected.

It tackles the dust we can’t see, so we can stay focused on the job we can (well my eyesight is pretty bad nowadays tbf!! 😆).

As a qualified Health Coach helping tradespeople stay healthy I say ‘Here’s to clean air, clear lungs and getting the job done safely’ We highly recommend this beauty! 🙌

Q - What’s better than a new project on a Monday?

A - Starting on a Thursday!

Well done to the fabulous building team at this full refurbishment project finishing this section early for us to return to add our magic touch!

Feels like a new build which means we get to work our ‘new build’ process.

When you’ve tried and tested processes over and over again you realise that we’ve each (me and Josh) been working for at least an hour without discussing who is doing what! You just know!

We love that we have our processes off to an (almost! 😅) fine art which makes for a smooth day which finished early 😅

Start with the end in mind!

🛠️ Take Time & SAVE for Sickness 🛠️

As tradespeople we are self placed into situations where work when sick is a case of pushing through.

When illness hits we need to reframe it - rest ISN’T WEAKNESS - it’s ESSENTIAL.

When the tools HAVE to go down - Your body is not just shutting down - it’s going to work 💪🏻

In moments like I had last week - mid project - work wasn’t possible and I listened.

When sick your immune system is deploying antibodies - white blood cells and inflammatory responses to fight off infection. This process takes ENERGY. The best support you can give it? Time, hydration, sleep and proper nutrition (when it can stay in!).

Scientifically speaking: Antibodies (like IgM and IgG) are proteins your body produces to target and neutralise harmful invaders like viruses and bacteria. These defenses take days or even weeks to fully respond. Pushing through too soon only PROLONGS recovery and may even worsen your health.

Here’s the real talk - no one pays our sick leave but us.

It is vital you build a buffer fund - a little at a time so we don’t feel forced to choose between health and income.

Do you do this?

👷‍♂️👷‍♀️ Trust your body.
🛌 Give it the time it needs
💷 Plan ahead financially for the days when rest is the real work.
💡 Take time for sickness. You’ll come back stronger.

How you can help your Trades person’s mental health in one (fairly) easy gesture.

You may have heard that Mental Health in the Trades is at crisis point. Well… what you may not have realised is that you can play a hugely positive role in improving your tradespersons health, before they’ve even set foot inside the house and before you’ve found out how they like their tea.

One of the biggest stressors we face as trades people is that the client is not ‘READY’. It’s as simple as that- be ready.

If this is your Living Room right now and your Decorator (or Plasterer; Electrician; Plumber; Carpenter) is arriving tomorrow Morning, you are not ready for them.

I know; I know - it’s been a Bank Holiday, the Relatives have been staying and the children have needed ferrying all over. It’s true - juggling is hard. But think of it like this - you have been asked by your Manager to get a project done in the next four days days this week without fail as he’s going away and wants the project in the can by the time he leaves Friday. You’d usually take five days on a project like this but of course… it’s been a Bank Holiday. Not only that but if you don’t get it done on time he won’t pay you and the mortgage is due out of your account on Monday so it HAS to get finished this Friday.

You arrive at the office bright and bushy tailed at 8.30 and you have no desk in a room already packed with your collaborators. Stressful…
You get the picture?

Now we can clearly see this is a stock AI image. But most Decorators I know have at some point arrive on a Monday morning to find a room not empty and full of personal effects.

Most Decorators are booked weeks ahead so we have lots of notice.

Your preparation and attention to this is so very appreciated… and so is the tea!

We inspired our neighbour! 🙏🥰

Isn’t this great?! Our lovely neighbour decided to paint his own window frames - which let me tell you is not for the faint hearted and is no small job on his very large Georgian style home with LOTS of windows! Not only that though he said ‘I see you both go off to work looking so smart I decided to go and by my own whites’ - I LOVE this!! 💕😎

He’s looking better than me in my slippers! 🤣

Let me tell you he also achieved painting off ladder a great height - something I will never try again after a meltdown at the top and my Dad at the bottom making me feel terrible about it! I’m so stoked he challenged himself to this work and achieved it with only borrowing our pair of hop ups!

It’s external season but we are staying firmly on interiors!! Maybe I should get my neighbour to do all our exteriors 🤩🤭😅

Some mock me for ‘always studying something’ 😅

Some say ‘I hope this works out for you’

Some say ‘Isn’t it about time you stopped personal development and just do’

I am sometimes intruiged no one asks the questions - Why this course? What is it for? How do you feel it benefits you in your goals?

I saw this course ‘Leading with Motivational Intelligence’ advertised on Facebook by and was intrigued. I have a passion for Leadership since becoming one myself of 20 wonderful young men many years ago and of years of observing what very poor Leadership and Management was as an employee.

I am super grateful to TPWT and their efficiency in handling everything for me without any input from me and via for the funding for this and how smoothly this all took shape for me to get on the course.

I was scared and doubtful after having had my fingers burned in the past for the promise of funding with a supposed trusted academy of learning which reneged on their word and so I was naturally worried.

This course was incredibly well structured with a perfect gradient of learning; constant support and encouragement and also delivered by such a wonderfully professional and proficient coach who is hard not to completely love - Nicky Thackray 🙏💗

What an amazing opportunity but I have to praise myself a. For having the curiosity to find out what ‘Motivational Intelligence’ actually is and b. Taking ACTION to do something about it!!

This packed course and Diploma serves me in being able to further help when coaching tradespeople dig down to what motivation is and how to use it to achieve and flourish for themselves in their own lives.

Podcast incoming!

Today was a GREAT day!

We may not be able to live our full ‘ideal scene’ but whilst we grow into that we can make small opportunity pockets for micro doses of some of the things that DO make up our ‘ideal scene’.

It felt so good today to step back into podcast mode with my dear friend and co host to talk through and set the groundwork for our new podcast (yet to be named and released!) for fellow tradespeople and anyone who wants to tune in.

We love meandering and going off piste sharing experiences and how we handle them both in our past and daily lives.

We are welcoming suggestions and guests by DM or post comments and we look forward to sharing with you all soon 🫶

What an incredible week I’ve had!

Is this the future of how your trades person will be treated?! 😘

Like royalty and with compassion, kindness, trust and love? Well of course first you have to be worthy of trust and do all the things that contribute this but WOW what an experience I have had transforming a bedroom for this wonderful wonderful couple.

Did you know that most decorators are FILLED with anxiety and depression because they are placed under so much self pressure and expectations of clients that it plays havoc with their mental health to a point where some can’t even make it to the front door of the job for even their own home sometimes, frozen with dread and worry?

How lucky then was it when I was asked to carry out this project for parents of long term clients, married for 50 odd years - it really was a very special experience for myself and Josh to take part in this project to revive their room and we were so well cared for. They’d heard I eat a lot of chicken and healthy and insisted on feeding me!

Such kindness has blown me away, anxieties melted and I am filled with gratitude.

We strive to always do our very best and to be trusted with that without question and employed to do something based on what we do has been a truly wholesome experience.

Every little helps 💗
