With 350km of well-marked hiking trails, you can try everything from gentle walks to challenging high-altitude treks, winding through the region’s forests, alpine meadows and past glaciers. Plus, numerous cable cars and mountain lifts make high-altitude hiking easily accessible.

We all know about winter layering, but what about summer baselayers? Cue: the Craghoppers SolarShield+ collection.

As the name suggests, SolarShield+ is a fabric capable of blocking up to 98% of UVA and UVB rays, offering a UPF50+ rating. This is achieved through a titanium dioxide compound which absorbs UV rays that pe*****te the surface, and also through a specially engineered yarn that increases surface area to reflect UV.

It’s a technology used across a number of garments from Craghoppers, including short and long sleeve t-shirts and hoodies. Keep an eye out for the SolarShield+ logo across Craghoppers garments, which turns dark red when it’s exposed to the sun’s rays.

As OM editor Will explains, it's super comfy to wear too: "First of all, it feels light and airy, very fresh and comfortable. In hot conditions, you can tell that the weave allows cool air to pass through. It also wicks moisture away well, even during high-aerobic activities like running and cycling."

Available at Ellis Brigham now - dive in below to read our full verdict on this impressive technology.

What makes a good running pack?

First of all – and this is a bit of an obvious one – it needs to be the right size for the kit you'll be carrying. Then it needs to be secure and stable. Then it needs to be comfortable. Ultimately, it needs to support your run, and not hinder it in any way.

The Osprey Packs Duro Pro 7 gets all of those things right, and then delivers on a multitude of other features too. We've been testing the 7-litre version, but there’s also a 10-litre option. For us, the 7-litre size has been ideal for everything from short pavement runs through to four-hour trail runs in the mountains.

Dive in below for OM editor - and lifelong long-distance runner - Will's full review on Osprey's new offering for 2026.

Will Renwick gives his verdict on the Osprey Duro Pro 7, a lightweight and breathable running vest that's "ideal for runs of up to four hours".
