Well, we've missed a few days, but I shall make up for that with three days worth of mushy gushy drivel... 😂
2025 has been another fantastic year for Yellowbelly Records! Where we had around 35 releases to the name last year, this year saw us surpass 50, with the utterly phenomenal debut album from The Broken Wonders fittingly being our 50th! We have also had some new names join us, with Matt Tango Ellerby, Harry Medium, Austin T, Sacred Starfish and more join the rosta and have a release with us!
This year also saw us return to Tattershall Castle, and deliver our third sensational Summer Solstice event. Despite being bittersweet now, as this gig marked our last with good friends of ours Turning Of The Tide, they as well as The Limewoods and The Broken Wonders delivered a top tier night of true Lincolnshire folk / folk punk. And we are delighted that they are wanting us back for 2026!
2025 also saw the birth of Let The Imp Out at The Pessimist Gin & Wine Bar, our very special monthly night of spoken word. Having built the night up across nine months, we are delighted to say it will be back for 2026 bigger and badder than ever before. Though we loved being at The Pessimist, and would thoroughly recommend people to visit them for drinks and food (their menu is 🤌), we have a new home for a new year - which we will announce shortly after Christmas 😈
On the spoken word vein, 2025 also saw me FINALLY release my debut poetry anthology, A Modern Day Albion - an 18 poem anthology loosely inspired by the notion of Albion, and what that means to me in a 21st Century context. Copies are avaliable from me in person, or from Amazon online 😄
I could go on and on, but wouldn't want to start boring you all 🤪
So, to round up on my 2025 round up... here is a cartoon version of me with a glass of wine raised wishing cheers to you all for this festive season, once again! 🤟
