The Great Grapevine Goodbye Giveaway has handed out £1615 to local groups and The Grapevine is now closed. We were very pleased to divide the money between these projects:

Timberland Family Fun Day: For buying gazebos and to cover essential costs such as toilet hire.

Friends of Martin School: To revamp the school library and widen the selection of books available.

MATES: To go towards their annual Christmas Hamper collection.

Timberland Methodist Church: To purchase a small shed in which to keep the Chapel's gardening equipment.

106 Squadron Memorial: To help to make the bench safe and to top up the gravel around the memorial.

Martin Crafty Club suggested the purchase of an "Unknown Tommy" statue to be displayed at Holy Trinity Church, Martin. This has now been installed near the war memorial.

It is groups like this that make our community a nicer place to live. We'd like to thank them for the work they do, and we wish them every success in these projects and others in the future.

The Post Office van is still out of action (Tuesday 23 Sept) but is expected to be back in service by Friday.

There will be no Post Office on Friday 18 September.

There will be no Post Office van on Tuesday 16th September, and possibly not on Friday 19th either, due to it being in the garage.
