A proper foodie day out – Oundle Food Festival

The countdown is on, and the buzz is building for Oundle’s annual Food Festival! Join us on Saturday 20th June 2026, from 9am to 4pm, as the heart of this beautiful town transforms into a vibrant celebration of food and drink.

Discover an irresistible mix of the region’s best independent producers, all coming together for one of the East Midlands’ must-visit foodie events. Local shops, cafés and restaurants will be joining the festivities, adding even more flavour to the day.

With free parking, live music, and entertainment throughout, it’s the perfect day out – whether you’re a dedicated foodie, a family looking for fun, or simply keen to support local businesses and enjoy fresh, local produce.

Higham Ferrers Peregrine falcon chicks update

All four peregrine falcon chicks have now hatched in the nesting box on the church tower at St Mary’s Church, Higham Ferrers, and they are already drawing plenty of attention.

The chicks look healthy and are being fed regularly by the adults. It is not always a pretty sight, but it is a fascinating one. Peregrines are attentive, highly efficient hunters, bringing in a steady supply
of food to fuel rapid growth. You can even see how carefully they respond when one chick misses out.

Over the next few weeks, the chicks will grow quickly, developing feathers and strength as they prepare for their first flights. For those who have been following the story, this is a rewarding stage. Earlier in the season, the parents delayed full incubation so the chicks would hatch at a similar time, giving each one a fair chance. You can watch their progress live at www.ashgrovehealth.co.uk
