Throwback to that time I *almost* got a freelance job creating bedding designs 🤣 The client was looking for a close variation of this duvet set they’d created (second photo). After a couple of chats and the sharing of my trend forecast findings, I scared him off with my design rate (which was significantly cheaper than the textile designers I messaged/design forums had recommended for bedding designs). If I’m completely honest, it felt embarrassing - but on the flip side, it was a really valuable learning experience. It made me fully believe that my skills and time as a young designer should not be compromised - especially when it comes to quantifying the value of these services. Although I didn’t get the gig, I challenged myself to finish my own variation, shown in the third photo. Every single detail in the design was created from scratch, and I was pretty happy with the similar nature of the designs. The big take away? All of the NOs are not a reflection of your self worth. (I need to record myself saying this and use it as my alarm in the morning.) You will find your space - even if you have to carve it out yourself 🌞

Highlights of the digital work I've created throughout the beginning of 2021! I've loved using my free time to bring these bubble font designs to life. My hope is that the vibrant colours and quirky messages capture the same sense of encouragement that I felt making them!⭐️

Thought it was definitely time to share my recent projects with you all on facebook! 🌻 This is an overview of my Chasing Coral collection I created in September, inspired by the documentary of the same name (thanks Netflix 🐳 ) The film explores the increased devastation of global coral bleaching, as a direct result of global warming. It inspired me to create designs fit for sustainable swimwear, to showcase the beauty of these vibrant, threatened lifeforms. Hope you enjoy looking through my work! 💙 PS Sorry for the slight fuzz to the images, facebook loves to compress them 😅

Electric Waves is my second sub collection from my graduate showcase! Vibrant colours and glitchy textures are the strong focus of this design collection, capturing the dangerous, electric undercurrent of jellyfish tentacles. This theme enabled me to create designs that crackle with energy, mimicking the motion of the garment wearer when exercising ⚡️ more contextual shots coming soon!
