This is a great opportunity to get involved in covering local sports and community stories, helping shine a light on the moments that matter most.

**What's involved:**

* Writing short articles and match reports
* Creating engaging social media content
* Supporting coverage of local teams and community initiatives

The role is just a few hours per week, making it perfect for students, aspiring journalists, or anyone looking to build experience alongside other commitments.

This will initially be a voluntary position but there is potential for a paid role as you grow and prove your impact.

Most importantly, this role offers a clear pathway into sports journalism with hands-on experience and opportunities to develop your skills and portfolio.

Busy week ahead for all things 1880 - video coverage planned for today’s Mid Ulster Football Association Shield final then tomorrow night it’s NI Football League action between Rathfriland and Newry City.

Wednesday it’s Northern Ireland Women's Football Association Championship for the game between Greenisland & Ballymoney then two games Friday night as Newry host Moyola Park and the Mid Ulster Junior cup final takes place.

Ending the week off we’re out covering the Mixed Abilities World Cup on Sunday on behalf of Stevie Rea's Coaching
