😤 I cannot stand hidden pricing.

This weekend I was ready to join a programme.

Excited. Motivated. Ready to move forward.
But the price? Nowhere to be found.

The only option was to DM for details.
No thanks.

I don’t want to wait around or have an awkward “sorry, that’s out of my budget” chat.

So I signed up with someone else instead. Someone who was clear and upfront. Pricing was front and centre.

And I see this all the time: brilliant experts with huge reputations… but no paying clients. Not because they aren’t good enough.

But because they don’t actually put their offers or pricing out there.

👉 Clarity shows confidence.
👉 Transparency builds trust.
👉 Proud pricing makes it easier for people to say yes.

✨ That’s why I’ll always be upfront.

It helps buying decisions and an easy customer journey.

You should be able to look at someone’s offer and instantly decide: do I have the money, and is this right for me?

It shouldn’t be a Crystal Maze 🔮 challenge just to find out how to work with you.

LinkedIn has become exhausting. Here's what lurking in the inbox just today…

❌ The persistent follow-upper who won't take silence as an answer
❌ The 'please follow my company page' requester
❌ The copy-paste template sender with poor grammar
❌ The long-form storyteller trying to create problems you don't have
❌ The guy promising to a Forbes Feature... when you’ve already been featured in Forbes

🎯 OR a personal favorite - the guy who's been messaging for TWO YEARS straight with the same 'quick chat' pitch, complete with Starbucks bribes and humble-brag revenue numbers.

James, if you're reading this... we’re still not interested in your 977 booked meetings strategy.

This isn't networking. This is digital door-to-door sales. Spray and pray.

You may as well throw spaghetti at the wall, at least something will stick. 🍝

These poor practices make me hit the 'remove and block' buttons faster than any Calendly link promising to "get 300 calls booked this week" ... it's exhausting.

There IS a much better way:

✅ Actually read your target's profile before messaging
✅ Reference something specific you have in common
✅ Lead with genuine curiosity, not your sales pitch
✅ Respect 'no' or silence as an answer
✅ Build relationships before asking for anything

Real networking is about mutual value, not mass outreach.

If you're doing LinkedIn outreach, ask yourself: "Would I want to receive this message?"

If the answer is no, don't send it.

What’s the worst LinkedIn pitch you’ve received? 👀

Over the years I’ve bumped into and caught up with some former colleagues from my corporate life. Liverpool is a village after all!

Some remember me firmly in the “Exec Assistant box” — useful, efficient, organised but not much beyond that.

Others have followed my journey since leaving, and told me how much they’ve loved watching me reinvent myself.

Both responses have reminded me of an important truth:
✨ Some people will only ever see you as who you were.
✨ Others will celebrate you as who you are becoming.

For years, I worked in environments that was toxic and stifling, and I wasn’t the only one.

So many of us who left are now doing brilliantly running our own gigs. We are shaping our careers on our own terms.

It turns out the problem was never our ability, it was the culture that was crushing it.

Reinvention isn’t just possible, it’s powerful.

But here’s the catch: your brilliance doesn’t automatically get recognised. You have to make it visible.

Sometimes, you don’t realise how bad things are… until you’re in a room where it feels completely different.

Elsie* came to my last LinkedIn Launchpad thinking she was there to explore the early stages of a business idea.
