25 years later, and the thought of that day still breaks my heart.

2,977 people woke up, got ready, kissed their families goodbye, went to work or boarded a flight… never knowing it would be the last time.

Behind every number was a person. A mum, a dad, a son, a daughter, a partner, a friend. Someone was waiting for them to come home.

And while thousands were trying to escape with their lives, so many brave others ran towards the danger risking their own lives to save complete strangers. Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, volunteers and ordinary people showing with the most unbelievable amount of courage.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives that were taken, the families who had to carry on without them, and every hero who stepped forward when the world seemed to stand still.

I couldn’t give a flying toss if my kids are popular or not.

Tell me they’re kind.
Tell me they never leave someone out for being different.
Tell me they noticed the child sitting alone.
Tell me they stood up for someone who was being picked on when nobody else did.
Tell me they made somebody feel welcome
Tell me they use their manners and show respect, even when nobody is watching.

That’s the stuff I am proud of & really care about. ❤️
