Our team were thrilled to attend the very first Location Manager awards at St George’s Hall on Saturday. We were proud to be a part of a night honouring the unsung heroes of production in the very heart of our city - all the location managers, scouts, studio managers and unit managers who turn creative visions into real, filmable worlds.

Lynn, the head of the LFO, said of the night:

“We’re incredibly proud that Liverpool was chosen to host the inaugural Location Managers Awards UK. Our city has been the backdrop to some of the world’s biggest productions, and tonight we celebrated the people who make that possible - the location managers and teams whose hard work turns every corner of the UK into a film set. The UK Film and Screen sector would not be where it is today without them.”

Ian Pollington & Team won the ‘LFO Location Department Award’ for their outstanding work on Slow Horses, with local location manager Emily Turnbull winning the ‘Andrew Bainbridge Rising Star Award’. You can find out all the big winners from the night on the Location Manager Awards website.

We’re proud to team up with the along with our Screen Alliance North partners, , Screen Yorkshire and .

A charity dedicated to supporting everyone working behind the scenes in film, TV and cinema, they offer a 24/7 confidential support line, legal and financial guidance, stop-gap grants, a bullying advice service, and free counselling.

Our region has long cemented itself as a key part of the UK’s film and TV industry, with major blockbusters and ground-breaking TV dramas finding a home among our creative community.

But the Film + TV Charity's recent research shows that a shocking 38% of workers in the North West experienced bullying, harassment or discrimination in the last 12 months. And with loneliness and poor mental health also impacting workers in the region – it’s time to make a change.

The Charity’s Bullying Advice Service offers 1-1 support, while their website is full of resources to help anyone going through a tough situation. And with their other services, including free counselling and financial support, the Film and TV Charity can help make life better behind the scenes.

And that’s not it – they’re also working to improve our industry’s culture, creating a more supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.

You don’t have to do this alone. You can find out more about how to access support today on the Charity’s website.

2 Valleys Location Hire is first up; a location hire company based in Hightown in Sefton dedicated to making the impossible possible.
