Brain development
Music stimulates the brain to produce chemicals like oxytocin and dopamine, which can help children share, empathize, and trust others. It also engages multiple brain areas, including memory, attention, and problem-solving.
Cognitive development
Music can help with language processing, spatial-temporal skills, and mathematical abilities.
Social skills
Music can help children develop social skills, such as cooperation, cross-cultural awareness, and teamwork.
Emotional development
Music can help improve their mood and emotional regulation. It can also help them develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-expression.
Physical development
Music can help children develop gross and fine motor skills.
Academic performance
Music can help children improve their performance at and on standardised tests.
Other skills
Music can help children develop patience, discipline, and critical thinking skills. It can also help them learn to focus and relieve stress.
