Voice of Wales, Is it really a voice of truth or racism?
A far-right activist group, Voice Of Wales, has been at the center of controversy in Llanelli, drawing heavy fire for its stances on immigration, anti-LGBTQ+ ideology, and increased xenophobic fears.
Voice Of Wales was established by Daniel Raymond Morgan, a 38-year-old campaigner and former UKIP parliamentary candidate who contested the 2021 Senedd election, receiving 567 votes in Swansea East. The group has come to prominence over demonstrations against the UK Home Office plan to house asylum seekers at Stradey Park Hotel, openly promoting themselves as the "only Welsh media alternative to the 'corrupt establishment'".
But VoW, co-founder Daniel Raymond Morgan, has a somewhat dubious history with the police because Morgan himself was convicted for his role in a huge call-centre fraud network targeting unsuspecting UK citizens—posting over 53 million PPI scandal scam messages, conning people out of thousands of pounds.
Voice of Wales has largely been collectively labeled as a "racist" group and their site is accused of disseminating "foul" and "unacceptable" ideas and words.
Immigration: The group's protests asylum seekers in Llanelli are manifestations of a hardline, anti-immigration tactic—depicting new arrivals as a threat to local safety and morals.
Homophobia & Xenophobia: While specific instances of homophobia were not detailed within the reports, the broader accusations of "racist" content suggest an underlying current of intolerance, potentially encompassing homophobic subtexts and more broad xenophobic communication.
Rhetoric Quality: Their communication and rhetoric have been described as outrageous and threatening—portraying asylum seekers as threats to society and themselves as saviors from a presumed corrupt political elite.
