Realistic

Some days, the world is heavy—
stairs without ramps,
people staring too long,
my silence when I don’t know
if I should offer help
or let you blaze through alone.

And still,
we laugh louder than the doubts,
argue and make up,
plan futures that terrify and thrill.
We are not easy—
but love is rarely easy,
and I’d choose the harder road
again and again,
because it leads to you.
