Young people are finding it incredibly hard to get work experience this year and it has really shocked me.
I’ve taken on over 1 1/2 thousand Work Experince students and apprenticeships I now have students travelling from Manchester, Milton Keynes and Birmingham all the way to London just to get a placement with me. If that is not a sign that the system is broken, I do not know what is.

Here is my simple idea. Let us use the Apprenticeship Levy to fund short bursts of structured volunteering so young people can build real skills and confidence. Let us design these opportunities so they truly support neurodiverse minds. Clear structure. Clear expectations. No phones while they are volunteering. They get up on time, they show commitment, they learn discipline and in return they get experience, references and a fair shot at a future.

If we are going to invest in benefits, we should also invest in responsibility and opportunity. If someone consistently refuses to engage with the chances they are given, then we have to be honest about whether the current set up is really helping them.

I had been making short videos for a long time, either just speaking myself or talking to others and posting them online, but this was taking them to a whole new level and they were now attracting more people to my social media business, as they soon realized what huge impact videos could have for their own business.
