I used to wear my “trauma” like a badge of honour.

My mother’s brutal murder, addiction, abandonment—I had the credentials to prove how much I’d “been through.”
But one day, I realised something that changed everything:

The story I told about my pain was keeping me small.

It’s not illegal.
You are not doing anything wrong.

This message feels like I’m speaking directly to the younger version of myself that made herself smaller and muted her enthusiasm—like I’m holding her hand at her lowest moment and hoisting her up.
She would be so happy to see that we stopped shrinking!!! 🥹

Let’s create a culture that encourages self-expression from a young age so we don’t need to heal the inner child of adult women who falsely believed they were too much in the first place!!

It starts by taking up space.

Constantly sacrificing yourself isn’t generosity—it’s often avoidance of your own path and purpose.”

I love those moments when a client sits across from me, eyes clear, and says without words: “I know this is on me.”

I’m not perfect—I mess up, I doubt myself, and sometimes I still reach for my old excuses. This is beautiful, powerful honesty, when they catch themselves and laugh, “There I go again, blaming my boss/mum, partner/the economy.”

Working with these awesome women feels different. We don’t waste precious time on “it’s not fair”, the dance that keeps so many stuck. Instead, we get our hands dirty in the real work.

Recently, a client walked in frustrated about a project that had fallen apart. She started with “They didn’t...” but paused mid-sentence, took a breath, and reset with “I didn’t set clear boundaries.”
The pride I felt watching her course-correct her own narrative? 🥹
That’s why I do this work.
