Pradascape: Prada Mode London animated Town Hall during Frieze, with a programme exploring notions of spectatorship. At its core: "The Audience", Elmgreen & Dragset's immersive installation, presented in the form of a cinema. A looped film. Sculptural figures seated in still observation. "The Conversation" extended the narrative beyond the screen - a solitary figure at a café table, connected through a video call, both present and elsewhere.
Talks featured Elmgreen & Dragset and High Line architect Elizabeth Diller, a lecture by scholar Kirsty Sedgman, spoken poetry by James Massiah, highly insightful scriptwriting - and performance (please make yourself known to us) - sessions led by Ray Grewal, and film screenings of Leos Carax, Quentin Duplex and Tsai Ming-Liang, among the many highlights. Haunting, desirable, memorable, presence/absence, Pradatropian ways of seeing. (NB: October marks the 20th anniversary of the iconoclastic permanent public artwork also by Elmgreen & Dragset).
