Public Notice: Suspension of Non-Compliant NGOs
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) informs the general public that it has suspended the operations of certain Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) found to be non-compliant with the established requirements for NGO operations in Sierra Leone.
A recent review revealed that some NGOs are operating without fulfilling key provisions of the national NGO policy framework — most notably, maintaining a verifiable office presence in the country. As custodian of public trust and development resources, MoPED emphasizes that adherence to these standards is essential to ensure accountability, transparency, and effective service delivery.
Accordingly, the Ministry has directed the listed NGOs to immediately cease operations until full compliance is demonstrated.
MoPED reaffirms its commitment to fostering a transparent and accountable development sector that serves the best interest of the people of Sierra Leone.
