Being a fierce and fiery lady has its downsides… Here’s me taking some time to practise drawing dragons, as there will be some naughty ones in a story that’s brewing. I hope my illustrator loves drawing dragons.

This is me (says the talented Liefde door de lens), Suzy with her My Magic Books logo & mice that have come to life. I love it. Thank you, Sabrina. I am truly touched.

A kind man (who had just bought my book during our meeting at the library) sent me a compliment after I’d told him about painting windows. It made my day. And this is what my next book is about: seeing gold in others, and TELLING them so. Compliments are so important.

… especially when times seem hard or when you’re just EXTRA tired from carrying your (mental) load. I am ecstatic that Summer is here, but boy oh boy do I feel drained. I am trying to use these “free” days to Fix Up The House (long overdue), Give The Children Magical Sunny Days and a near-endless list of other Very Important Things. This scene was grabbed from my upcoming children’s book “The Night The Moon Was Sad” and it tells the story of two children who cheer up the moon. Also, they teach little ones how important it is to be truly seen. Compliments and cuddles are key!

Osaka is keeping Mister Wobbly Tooth happy and safe, living with this beaut of a little girl. We travelled to Japan — an exquisite birthday present for my son — and did not quite want to leave again. Flying back over the North Pole was a stunning surprise, though.
