We’re delighted to share some wonderful news from Graham Buchan, whose collection So Sweet and Other Stories will be published by Foreshore Books in Spring 2027.

“Jeremy”, the final story in the collection, has been named runner-up in the Sean O’Faolain Short Story Competition, judged by Louise Hegarty.

It is particularly pleasing recognition for a story that will close So Sweet — a collection that moves between darkness and tenderness, the unsettling and the intimate, and brings together work written and published across Graham’s long engagement with the short form.

Author Duncan Fraser recently sent us these wonderful photographs from the newly opened Paper Bullets bookshop in Blairgowrie.

As publishers, we spend a lot of time talking about sales, reviews and marketing, but sometimes a single photograph says more than all the statistics.

Seeing Terrarium Hotel displayed between Ian Rankin and Alasdair Gray brought a smile to our faces.
