Cambridge University announced it has transferred legal ownership of 116 stolen Benin artefacts in the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (MAA) collections to Nigeria.🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

Nigeria’s National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM), operating under a management agreement with the Benin Royal Palace, will now have ownership of the items.

Olugbile Holloway, Director-General of Nigeria’s National Commission for Museums and Monuments, said:

“This development marks a pivotal point in our dialogue with the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge and it is our hope that this will spur other museums to head in a similar direction.

A Black British entrepreneur is changing the game in hair care. ✨

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, Jacqueline Shaw founded The Canerow Company — creating biodegradable, plant-based braiding hair extensions made from banana tree fibre. 🌱

Synthetic extensions are usually plastic-based and have been linked to health risks.

For Shaw, the journey through illness sparked a powerful mission: to provide a safer, healthier, and sustainable alternative for Black women and beyond.

“I didn’t want to put anything toxic or problematic on my hair. I wanted something that was good for me, good for us, and good for the planet.”
