This is the kind of food I love making at home. Simple, loaded with flavour and not shy on the seasoning.

Qualiko UK sent me a selection of their chicken range ahead of the World Halal Food Festival, so I put a few of them to work in the kitchen.

🌶️ Naga Doner Chips
Qualiko chicken doner cooked on the griddle with onions, Cajun, pepper, chopped tomatoes, ketchup and chilli sauce. The game changer was the Naga pickle mixed through with fresh coriander. Loaded over chips and finished with aioli, coriander and crispy fried onions. This one was dangerous.

🔥 Hot Buffalo Wings
Qualiko chicken wings straight into the air fryer at 200°C for 20 minutes, then tossed in a hot buffalo dry rub. Crispy on the outside, soft inside and ridiculously easy to make at home.

🧈 Cowboy Butter Whole Chicken
Patted dry, massaged with butter inside and out, then given a generous coating of cowboy butter seasoning. Air fried low and slow in two 30-minute sessions. Lightly crisp skin with a seriously juicy centre.

🍗 Chicken Nuggets
And for those that are into it. Qualiko nuggets, ready in under 10 minutes.

Big thanks to .chicken.uk and for sending everything over.

Qualiko UK will be exhibiting at the World Halal Food Festival at London Stadium on 26–27 September, so you can catch them there and see more of the range.

🎟️ If you haven’t got your WHFF tickets yet, head online and get yours sorted.

What started with £1 sandwiches and baguettes has somehow ended up here.

Before Wingers existed, co founder Bill Sunner was running a family sandwich business that grew to around 10 sites, with their £1 sandwiches and baguettes becoming some of their biggest sellers.

The idea for a chicken concept had been there for years but when Covid forced the sandwich business to close, Bill and his sons Amran and Dylan decided to give it a go.

Wingers was born in 2020, initially operating from a dark kitchen, and that family business has now grown to 29 locations across the UK, with Epsom being number 29.

Now onto the food because this was a proper spread. The chicken is marinated in buttermilk before being fried fresh, and we got stuck into both the tenders and wings. The Ancho wings had this smoky, slightly spicy flavour that just kept me going back for another.

Then came the Jerk Loaded Fries. Cajun seasoned fries loaded with chicken tenders, Jerk BBQ sauce, Wingers signature sauce, crispy onions, spring onions and red chillies. Loads going on but it all worked together.

We also tried the Wingers Feast Bowl, packed with tenders, fries, crunchy slaw and salad, before finishing with their big New York style cookies.

I’d genuinely eat everything again 10 times over, but if I had to choose my favourites, it has to be the Ancho wings and Jerk Loaded Fries. Those two did it for me.

One thing specifically asked me to mention is that they’ve recently launched their new rewards app for loyal customers. So if you’re already a Wingers regular, definitely have a look.

Epsom has only been open a week and when you think this all started as a family sandwich business selling baguettes, seeing them reach store number 29 is quite the journey.

Epsom, this is your sign to check them out.
If you’ve already been, let me know what you ordered and if you're about to go, what are you ordering?

Two floors of proper food in Willesden and right now the new Masala range is the headline here

We pulled up with bringing food creators together around one table to discover the food, meet the people behind the business and share the experience with our communities.

If you’ve never had broasted chicken, it’s cooked using a pressure-frying process, giving you that crispy exterior while keeping the chicken juicy inside. Add their Masala flavour into the equation and this was easily one of my standouts.
But that £5 shawarma deserves its flowers too. Juicy chicken, garlic sauce and that touch of molasses bringing a subtle sweetness into the mix. For a fiver, this genuinely took me by surprise.

Then there’s the mixed grill bringing shish tawook, lamb tikka, kofta and lamb chop together, with that char from the grill running through the platter.

They’ve also got fresh juices and milkshakes if you’re after something cold alongside it.

Whether you’re coming with the family, your tribe, or even pulling up solo, there’s plenty of room across both floors.

There’s something different about eating a meal after you’ve just watched the chefs put the work in.

For this we headed to in Battersea, tucked beneath the railway arches just around the corner from Battersea Power Station.

The open theatre kitchen gave us a proper look behind the scenes. Flames flying, seafood hitting the grill, naan straight from the tandoor and, somehow, they even trusted me to have a go at making one myself.

Then came the food.bThe Power Station Grill Platter was the one I’d been waiting for, loaded with chicken tikka, lamb seekh kebab, seared bream and king prawn. That was followed by dry-aged rump steak with their “gimme curry” and red salt chips, before finishing with the carrot halwa and ginger toffee pudding with cinnamon ice cream.

Great food is one thing but seeing the skill and graft that goes into it gives you a completely different appreciation for what eventually lands on the plate.

Another memorable evening around The Creators Table.

Would you rather sit by the open kitchen and watch the action, or keep the magic behind closed doors?

Unpopular opinion, prawns are better than lobster. And after this meal, I’m standing by it.

We headed to in Canary Wharf, a Sri Lankan restaurant brand that started in Colombo back in 2016. ISSO actually means prawn in Sinhala, so it’s pretty clear what takes centre stage here.

We worked our way through mutton rolls, cuttlefish fritters, prawn kothu, cashew nut and pea curry before getting to the real stars of the show. Colossal hot butter prawns, black tiger prawns and those huge freshwater prawns with garlic and chilli.
And somehow we still had room for wattalapan and pani pol pancakes.

The whole experience was a delight. Great food, a lovely setting and even better company.
This was another evening with something and I created to bring creators together around one table, connect properly and enjoy good food while creating content and shining a light on the restaurants we visit.

People first. Food second. The content comes naturally.
Btw I still think prawns are better than lobster.

Roost Chicken Festival was an absolute madness. Some serious chicken talent all in one place and I definitely made the most of it. Let's take a moment and reflect!

Part 1 of 2 — here’s how it went down:

— Adam Richman was in the building getting stuck into their chicken, so you already know I had to see what all the fuss was about.

— calls it his favourite Nashville chicken in London, and I couldn’t disagree. That sando delivered and that house sauce took it to a different level.

— Straight out of Harlem with the pan-fried chicken, cheesy mac and cinnamon yams. Putting all three together was the move.

— First he pulls out halal duck, then follows it with the Bone Marrow Buffalo and The Wong Wing. Some proper creativity going on here.

And that was only Part 1.

Part 2 coming next. There’s plenty more to get through.

WING FEST 2026 — PART TWO

With Wing Fest popping off in Bristol this weekend, it was only right I ran it back to London for Part 2.

This time I got through some of the most creative wings of the day, and when you're judging at Wing Fest, playing it safe isn't going to cut it.

The Part 2 line-up:
seoul — Nutty By Nature & Buldak Buffanero. Two completely different flavour profiles and both delivered.

— 1AM Doner Kebab. Doner meat on a chicken wing is a mad concept, but somehow it makes sense.
catering / Kalthan — Butter Me Up. Butter chicken sauce, raita and crispy onions on a charcoal-grilled wing. You know I was here for this one.

— Bringing those Latin flavours with La Guaira and Buffanero. Sweet, citrus, spice and plenty of heat.

— The Guv'nor. Turning fish and chips into a chicken wing shouldn't work this well. One of the most creative wings I came across.

— Peach & Chong and Crack Wings. Smoked peach, honey jerk, crispy plantain, Trinidadian hot pepper sauce... these guys weren't messing about.
uk — Finishing with Sri Lankan and Ghanaian heritage through their Arumai and Chale Wings. Loved seeing culture represented through the flavours.

Wing Fest London was a proper vibe from start to finish. Big up for keeping the energy going and a massive thank you to for collaborating with us and getting The Creators Table crew involved.

Part 1 and Part 2 done. Now the question is... who would you have given your vote to?

We brought The Creators Table to at Greenford Quays and what a night it was!

Big shout out to Zubair for looking after us and kicking things off with something completely off menu. A proper Tear & Share featuring one of the biggest smash patties I’ve seen. Not even round either, this thing was RECTANGULAR and made for the whole table to get stuck into.

Of course, there’s plenty on the actual menu worth coming down for too. Their Original Smash keeps things classic, while the Black Truffle Smash takes it up a level if you fancy something a little more indulgent.

They’re also known for dropping limited specials every so often. When we visited, it was the Tokyo Slide 🇯🇵 and right now you’ll find the Pastrami Smash Burger on the menu, so treat yourself while it’s there!

And we need to talk about those loaded fries. Proper generous portions, crispy fries, loads of texture and plenty of different flavours to choose from. We tried the Korean BBQ Loaded Fries and my personal favourite, the Hot Honey Loaded Fries!

Save some room for dessert too because they’ve got hoptions (no typo). Their milk cakes are from a local baker. A nice way to end a solid meal!

📍 Smash n’ Slide, Greenford Quays
🅿️ 2 hours free parking available
🌙 Heading down in the evening? There’s also off road parking nearby if you’re planning on staying a little longer.

What really made this special was having so many different creators come together, each creating their own unique content and sharing the same experience through their own lens. One table, one evening, but so many different stories 🙌🏽

Make sure you check out the creators who joined us and show their videos some love!

FUIYOH! Uncle Roger has officially entered the London restaurant game!

We took community to Kawan by Uncle Roger, the first London restaurant from Malaysian comedian better known to millions online as Uncle Roger.

Located in the heart of London’s Chinatown, opened in May 2026, bringing Uncle Roger’s world to life — from the famous orange polo and his love of MSG to “Haiyaa”, “Fuiyoh” and, of course, his nieces and nephews.

For this Creators Table, I ate specifically from the halal menu, and we were treated to quite the spread:

• Village Fried Rice
• Dry Curry Wagyu
• Chinese Chicken Wellington
• Teh Tarik
• Yuzu Lemonade
• Sizzling Milo Dumpling
• Sweet Yam Foam — Uncle Roger’s favourite

The Village Fried Rice had some serious expectations attached to it and it delivered, while the Wagyu and Chinese Chicken Wellington was definitely one of the standout dishes of the evening.

Big love to the Kawan team for hosting The Creators Table and looking after everyone.
