As part of our WARRIORS & SAINTS launch on Tues 29th October, Vanessa Vie will read a poem by the late Michael Horovitz, whose poetry is featured in the anthology. For over 60 years, Michael was a pioneer and mainstay of the Counterculture in Great Britain, forging vital links nationwide and worldwide between artists, writers and musicians, celebrated in the 100 Club and the Royal Academy alike. His departure is deeply mourned. His spirit lives on through being celebrated in productions like this. All who knew him should struggle on to do what he would have wanted.

Warriors & Saints book launch, Tues 29 October, 7-8.30pm, doors 6.30pm, Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton St, London WC2H 9BX. Free entry.

We are pleased to share that Vanessa Vie will be one of the talented contributors reading at the WARRIORS & SAINTS launch on the 29th October at the Poetry Cafe in London! 🎉

Vanessa abandoned a career in medicine in favour of literature, music and visual arts. Her début book Open Windows, Open Doors was published in collaboration with the late and much-missed British poet and artist Michael Horovitz, by his New Departures imprint. It is a volume of her diverse poetic writings, plus a substantial selection of her visual inventions. The book’s title invokes the opening of Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s Populist Manifesto: For Poets with Love “Poets come out of your closets / Open your windows, open your doors, / You have been holed– up too long / in your closed worlds.

Venue: Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton St, London WC2H 9BXTime: 7-8:30pm, doors at 6:30pm
