This World Environment Day, the data speaks clearly and it cannot be ignored. 🌿🌍

According to UN Women, by 2050 climate change could push up to 158 million more women and girls into poverty. Today, 47.8 million more women already face food insecurity and hunger than men. And when disasters strike, women and children are 14 times more likely to die than men, not because of nature, but because of inequality.

4 out of 5 people displaced by the impacts of climate change are women and girls. They walk farther for water. They work harder for food. They rebuild communities after every flood, every drought, every storm. Yet women are largely excluded from shaping the very policies, strategies, and programmes designed to address disaster risk and resilience.

The climate crisis is not gender neutral. It never has been.
Women Rise stands for every woman on the frontlines of a crisis she did not create. Because you cannot solve the climate emergency without centring the women who feel it most. ✊
