Somewhere between shadows and sunshine, peace found a brick wall to rest on.

The breeze carried a softness that morning, like nature had exhaled after a long, silent dream. Tucked between amber whispers of spring leaves and the golden hush of a rising sun, Portway Lodge stood still — not forgotten, not loud, just… still. Its red-brick skin glowed warmly under the sun’s gentle touch, while shadows from the evergreen nearby painted it with fleeting strokes of time.

No one hurried there. The world outside kept rushing, but here, life moved differently — as if the house itself had chosen to breathe slower. You could hear birds debating the morning sky, the rustle of old trees sharing secrets with the wind, and the hum of quiet joy. A kind of stillness that didn’t demand silence — it welcomed presence.

Behind the window, lace curtains swayed softly, hinting at stories untold. Maybe someone was sipping tea, watching the light draw shapes on the wooden floor. Or maybe no one was home, and peace had wandered in anyway — curling up against the brick wall like an old friend returning after years away.

You wouldn’t find this house in postcards. But you’d remember it if you walked by —
