This chalcedony, enamel, diamond, and ruby brooch was made by Faberge around 1900 and probably purchased by Queen Alexandra. The Royal Family bought several pieces from the Faberge store in London but none of their descriptions match this piece, so it’s exact history is unknown.

This magnificent set of jewels was bought by Prince Albert in 1854 and originally consisted of the necklace, earrings, and a brooch set with diamonds and opals. They were bought to match the Oriental Circlet which Prince Albert designed for Queen Victoria. Matching brooches were later added to the set.

In 1904, Queen Alexandra commissioned this diamond Collier Résille from Cartier with detachable emerald and ruby pendants. Résille translates to fishnet or hairnet. The emeralds and rubies were taken from an Indian jewel of Alexandra’s. After Queen Alexandra’s death, the necklace was inherited by Queen Mary who had it altered in 1926.
