Today, on World Sickle Cell Day, the Sickle Smart Foundation had the privilege of visiting United Methodist Secondary School for Girls (UMC) at Circular Road, Freetown. Our aim was to educate and empower students with essential information regarding sickle cell disease.

Together, we strive to enhance awareness, encourage early testing, and advocate for a healthier future for our community.

Today, the Sickle Smart Foundation proudly participates in the official launching of NGOs Week at the Miatta Conference Centre, Youyi Building. This event marks a crucial moment for organizations working towards positive change in Sierra Leone and beyond.

As advocates for sickle cell disease awareness and support, we recognize the importance of collaboration in driving impactful solutions. NGOs Week provides an invaluable platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and policy engagement, allowing us to strengthen partnerships that will improve the lives of individuals affected by sickle cell disease.

Our presence here today reaffirms our commitment to:

▪️Raising awareness about sickle cell disease

▪️Advocating for better healthcare policies and support systems

▪️Empowering individuals and families affected by sickle cell

▪️Collaborating with stakeholders to drive sustainable change

We call on government agencies, NGOs, and healthcare professionals to join us in prioritizing sickle cell advocacy, early diagnosis, and access to quality treatment. By working together, we can create a healthier future for those living with sickle cell disease in Sierra Leone.

Let’s amplify our voices and push for meaningful change.
