Meet Captain Oluranti Ogoyi, the beautiful pilot who tangoed with Wasiu Ayinde Kwam 1

Oluranti, fondly called Rantilicious, by friends and colleagues is the daughter of Nigerian politician, Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale, who was the Senator representing Osun Central between 2003 and 2007.

A pilot of over 10 years, Captain Oluranti joined ValueJet a few years ago after flying with Arik Air for many years.

She became a full captain in September 2021 many years after flying as a first officer.

She was decorated by the management of Arik Air led by Chief Executive Officer; Captain Roy Ilegbodu, Director of Flight Operations; Captain Adetokunbo Adekunbi and Chief Pilot now NCAA Boss, Captain Chris Najomo.

She is married to a fellow pilot, Isaac Ogoyi Jr who like herself used to fly with Arik Air before moving to RwandAir and later Uganda Airlines where he currently works.

Zamfara Lawmaker Rep Member Renovates 80 Cemeteries As Constituency Project

A member of the House of Representatives, Kabiru Mai Palace, has renovated no fewer than 80 cemeteries in the Gusau/Tsafe federal Constituency of Zamfara State.

Mai Palace, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, made this known at the project inauguration in Zamfara State on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

The lawmaker said the cemeteries in Gusau and Tsafe Local Government Areas of Zamfara State were renovated as β€œpart of my second-year anniversary as a second-term.”

He added: β€œWe had noticed the dilapidated conditions of our cemeteries in various communities across my constituency.

β€œAs human beings, we know one day, all of us are going to be buried here; therefore, we must ensure we do good to improve the conditions of our last home.

β€œAs we all know in Islam, we know the value of keeping cemeteries in good condition. It prevents various disasters and calamities in society.”

FIRS Launches Real-Time VAT Monitoring Portal

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has introduced the Transaction Monitoring System, a real-time portal to track VAT-eligible electronic transactions. Banks, fintechs, payment providers, and card schemes must connect via API to automatically submit transaction and VAT data, helping close tax gaps in Nigeria’s digital economy.

According to FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji, the system enables real-time visibility and promotes a fairer, more transparent marketplace. It uses encryption and AI validation to ensure data integrity and will reconcile reported transactions with taxpayers’ self-assessments.

BREAKING: Olubadan-in-Council nominates Ladoja as 44th Olubadan

The Olubadan-in-Council has nominated Oba Rasidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland

Oba Ladoja was nominated at the Council meeting held at the New Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan on Monday, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Oba Ladoja was not in attendance at the meeting which had all the beaded crown High Chiefs.

The Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola moved the motion which was seconded by Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole.

Oba Ajibola, at the meeting said the name of Ladoja will be forwarded to the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for approval.

Ladoja’s nomination is coming following demise of the 43th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

According to Ibadan Obaship system, Ladoja, who is the topmost chief in the Olubadan line of the Chieftaincy rung, is the next-in-line to succeed Oba Owolabi who ascended the throne in 2024 from the Military Line.
