โ๏ธ๐๐ Dune Costume Design
Hereโs a (BTS) look at the costume & makeup design, from the initial draft to the final product. For this character design, we drew inspiration from ancient Roman clothing, adding elements to ensure coherence with the set design and the other character.
Our hair and makeup artist, Chiara, conducted extensive research for the character designs, examining various historical clothing styles for inspiration (including togas and other relevant attire). The first step was identifying the key factors associated with historical figures. In this case, Chiara employed draping techniques, with the assistance Judith (pictured). They then incorporated accessories such as bracelets, belts, and neck-pieces, using the same materials as the other character.
There are subtle differences between the two: Julianaโs character, being older, wears more jewellery, symbolizing a higher status and her accessories have a curved shape. On the other hand, Miles is portraying a younger character, has less jewellery with a straight cut.
