Taking a quick moment to remember September 11th and what it meant to me as a senior in high school. It’s not MTG related, but a lot of people forget what happened today, 25 years ago. Most folks who play now are just too young to know or have absolutely no idea what real national patriotism really feels like. I lived through a time where it seemed like that mattered.
My daughter was asked by her history teacher today to ask her mom and dad what we were doing, where we were, and how we felt. I remember first hearing it on the radio early morning waking up and freaking out. The nation couldn’t believe what was on the news and those who had any interest in joining up to serve were ready to sign up immediately.
Let’s not forget our fallen and later those who gave their lives so we can enjoy some of the freedoms and passions (like MTG) we have today. I think back to all of that now and remembering some of my close friends and Soldiers who passed during the following conflicts overseas.
Hope this message reaches some of you “greybeards” who served. Sharing my thoughts with the military community (and those who support) and asking you the same: “where were you, what were you doing, and what did you feel like when it happened?”
