Our very own Dj Krazy sat down and interviewed UK Producer, Dj, entrepreneur, and also known as the man who brought us Soul Il Soul, Jazzie B, which took place in Stockholm.

The full interview will be aired on Saturday 20th September from 5pm (GMT) on 'Wax On Wax Off' where Dj Krazy will also feature classic tracks from the extensive Soul Il Soul back catalogue.

A huge thanks to Gary and Yerko Vidal for filming and photography.

Jazzie B, born Trevor Beresford Romeo in 1963 in London, is a pioneering British DJ, music producer, and entrepreneur best known as the founder of the influential collective Soul Il Soul. Emerging from the sound system culture of the 1970s and 1980s, he blended reggae, soul, R&B, and dance music into a fresh style that helped define the sound of late-1980s and early-1990s UK club culture.Under his leadership, Soul Il Soul achieved international acclaim with hits like Back to Life (However Do You Want Me) and Keep On Movin', earning Grammy Awards and reshaping the global perception of British soul music.Beyond his success as a musician, Jazzie B has remained a central figure in the UK's cultural scene, championing Black British creativity, community, and the enduring legacy of sound system culture.

Nothing is going well for Dj Khalid at the moment. Any thoughts?

DJ Khaled’s Over-Hyped Dancehall Project Is a Major Flop 💸

All the money, all the marketing, but no authenticity

When DJ Khaled announced his new single ‘You Remind Me’, the hype machine roared to life. Paid press, glossy studio footage, and endless headlines promised a ‘historic’ moment: Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, and Mavado united on one track. For weeks it was billed as a cultural event. But now that the song has actually dropped, the reaction is painfully clear: all that money, all that noise - and the tune still flopped.

The irony is brutal. The artists on ‘You Remind Me’ don’t need Khaled. Their legacies are set in stone. Vybz Kartel has dominated dancehall from a prison cell. Bounty Killer and Buju Banton are walking institutions. Mavado turned ghetto anthems into international crossover. These men made history without a ‘curator.’ Yet here they are, paraded like Khaled’s trophies in a marketing campaign that’s already fading.

In the end, ‘You Remind Me’ will be remembered less as a milestone than as a cautionary tale. A reminder that dancehall’s power comes from the ground up, not from glossy marketing campaigns. The empire was already built - Khaled just showed up for the photo op.
