Clubbable? You bet. The Gentlewoman Club and TOAST took to Nine Orchard in the Big Apple for a rollicking evening devoted to the joy of joining in. The politics and pleasures of membership were brought to life by the panellists Natasha Pickowicz of Never Ending Taste, Lucy Yu of Yu & Me Books and Suzie de Rohan Willner, the CEO of TOAST, in a discussion led by The Gentlewoman’s Editor in Chief, Penny Martin. There followed questions and insights from a floor of Gentlewoman Club members that included the writer Matthew Schneier, the filmmaker Jeannie Sui Wonders and the fashion historian Valerie Steele. Then, a spirited mixer abuzz with new connections.

Photographed in the atelier where Michael Rider’s first collection for CELINE was created, the exquisite Guinevere van Seenus welcomes a new dawn on rue Vivienne.

So to coats, and this beige wool-and-polyamide beauty, which boasts extravagant draping and cinched closures at the neck and cuffs. Also adorable: a beige cashmere crew-neck jumper, a brown leather bag and brown leather lace-up shoes.

Next, on a rail of its own, a super-flat white leather Beads pouch.

Really glad to meet you! Issue nº 32 of The Gentlewoman is fronted by PinkPantheress.

The producer-singer and critical music thinker from Kent makes perfect pop songs. Case in point: her two-step smash hit “Illegal”, soundtrack to the Lionesses’ victory at the UEFA Women’s Euros, and summer more generally.

The secret of creating such devastatingly precise and witty bangers? Being picky, as Victoria Beverley Walker — Pink, or Vicky, depending on how well you know her — explains in a 16-page cover story by with photography by &Pani and styling by . “I have such high standards for what I need to achieve.”

Now that her music is ubiquitous, PinkPantheress has a clear idea of what cementing her position will require. “I always describe it as just having enough cultural currency. I really want to be able to be some person’s ‘Wow, she did it — I can do it too.’”

PinkPantheress will be on newsstands everywhere from Thursday, 18 September, wearing Miu Miu.
