This is such a special way to feel connected to family back home 🥹🥰 especially at bedtime

Technology has definitely made moving abroad easier with video calls… but the girls definitely miss out on alot too .. so when we were in SA , I recorded the girls grannies reading a story for them with our app and now they can play it whenever they want 🥹 was such a h it and Ray loves reading it along with the sound of Nani and Paati reading it to her 😃

Whenever I notice a little extra shedding, I do a quick check of three things

My shower filter.
London water is no joke..it’s hard and full of minerals that can dry out your scalp and weaken your hair over time. I’ve been using the .skin shower filter and it’s helped so much . It assists in removing those minerals and makes a huge difference to my scalp and hair health.
You can use my code THEDAILYREEV for a discount and find a link to their website in my highlights 🫶🏽

Next I look for build up…
Even with a great filter, product and mineral build-up can sneak up over time, so I book in with at to do a quick check. She does this amazing scalp detox treatment..basically a facial for your scalp and it leaves my roots feeling fresh, light and happy. I didn’t need one on this visit but I try do it every 6 months.

And then I look at when last I had a good trim 😆 because shedding just means it’s time for a little refresh. Amanda gave me a trim and confirmed my shedding wasn’t anything major just my long hair feeling heavier than usual. She also suggested a toner to refresh my colour and it’s made such a difference to my shine!

Aaaaand guys… Amanda has very generously offered all of you 15% off when you book your appointment within the next three weeks (and you can come anytime in the next 3 months). Just add “TheDailyReev15” in your booking notes.

And of course, important to also note… that sometimes extra shedding can be hormonal or linked to vitamins..so if you’ve ticked off all the other boxes, it’s always worth chatting to your GP or nutritionist too 💚

Guys, I had to make a video about this spot… invited me to try their new Aurum menu ..and they may just be my new favourite brunch spot 😍

Now while the French toasts might be the show-stoppers(and they are..the tiramisu with white chocolate mousse and espresso anglaise, and the pistachio cherry with sour cherry compote and pistachio anglaise were both so dreamy)…. Im a big savoury girl and my personal highlight was the creamy mushroom brioche 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Garlic mushrooms on toasted brioche, with salsa verde and rocket..so simple, comforting, and absolutely packed with flavour. If you love mushrooms, this is the dish. You can actually taste that deep, earthy mushroom flavour and the brioche itself is so soft and fresh. I’ve genuinely been thinking about it since 🥲 and would order it again and again…

We also had the market mezze brunch, which comes with tahini chickpeas, grilled padron peppers, smashed potatoes, roasted tomato, apricot harissa, olives and pita..a lovely mix of textures and flavours, all super fresh.

For drinks, I went with the pineapple, apple, ginger and turmeric juice, which was lovely…i also tried their hot chocolate with sprout milk, which had this lovely earthy, nutty flavour..not too sweet or bitter either..

The space itself is light and airy, the kind that makes you want to sit for hours. We went at 11:30, which turned out to be the sweet spot before the lunch crowd rolled in.

Everything at Mallow is 100% plant-based, but it doesn’t feel like a “substitute” restaurant.. just really good food, full stop. Definitely one I’ll be back to try more from (but probably still order that mushroom brioche again 😆).

Getting ready for the Diwali party with a glowy glam full face 😄🥹🤩

No expert.. just a girl who used to dig through her sisters make up bag and taught herself how to blend, smudge and glow in all the right places 😆😅

Some of the products I used :
True Match N**e Plumping Serum Foundation in shade 4-5
Infallible Grip Gel automatic Eye Liner
Infallible Grip 36hr Micro fine brush Eye Liner
Color Riche Matte Lipstick in shade 200
Lumi Le Glass Stick Highlighter
Infallible 3 second Setting Mist - this stuff literally dries so quick! One tip that works for me is to spray , then bake and then spray again.. 🫶🏼✨

Will share more from the event soonest 🫶🏼 thanks for having me

Happy Diwali 🪔

Growing up, Diwali always started in the kitchen.
The smell of ghee and elachi filling our home, trays and trays of sweetmeats setting in the fridge, and that beautiful chaos of getting every parcel wrapped with mum, Didi and Bhabi on Diwali morning in time for the afternoon delivery 😄

My brother and I would spend the afternoon driving from house to house handing over our boxes and always inevitably came home with a few extra that we received from family and friends.. we often rummaged through the boxes before we got home and chose our favourites to eat in the car 😄…. That rhythm, that heart of giving, is one of my strongest Diwali memories ✨❤️

Now, living abroad, our village is smaller but the intention of Diwali gifting stays the same. It’s still about sharing a piece of home, a little warmth, and the joy that comes from giving with love.

This year’s theme for my Diwali gift is A Little Parcel of Light .. a blend of old roots and new rituals. Each part telling a small part of a story..

The chai..for warmth and connection, because in our home.. the best moments begin with a cup of tea…

The homemade burfee…for tradition and heart, this is a decade old recipe from my Bhabi that we always made at home.. it is written on lined paper in a notebook of recipes and I have a picture of it on my phone now ..and it turns out perfect every single time.. with it it carries nostalgia along with the flavours of home and the hands that stirred them with love….

The South African style rusks… I flavoured my rusk recipe with cinnamon and elachi for comfort, and a little rose for decadence.. I also added pistachios, cashews and almonds..a little nod to where we come from and what still grounds us…

The nuts…to honour prosperity and abundance..

The cookie from … for celebration, because Diwali deserves a little extra indulgence.

And it’s all placed on a simple glass platter.. something I hope finds a place in their homes too 🫶🏼

Together they hold a little warmth, a little love, and a little light…shared from our home to yours.

Happy Diwali insta fam 🫶🏼✨
