After the tragic crash of Air India flight AI-171, which was en route to London Gatwick and went down shortly after takeoff, former pilot Ehsan Khalid raised a critical concern:Why was the landing gear still down at 600 feet?
According to Khalid, this could be a sign that the aircraft had already detected an engine failure before gaining sufficient altitude. He emphasized that typically, landing gear is retracted soon after takeoff, and its position at such a height suggests a serious technical issue occurred early on!
He also stated that the visuals of the crash indicate the plane was still airborne when it lost control, which rules out a mid-air explosion.Furthermore, the issuance of a Mayday call by the pilot confirms that the crew was already handling a major failure during ascent.Khalid believes multiple systems may have failed, but further investigation is required.
