✨I wasn’t a fan of history at school because I could never remember all those dates and years (and still can’t lol).

But everything is so different now. I get to choose the stories I’m interested in, the places I want to visit and what I actually want to learn about - not because I have to, but because I’m genuinely curious.

Visiting Stratford-upon-Avon and learning more about Shakespeare’s life was one of those moments. Turns out history is much more interesting when there’s no exam at the end of it. 😂✨

✨If you ever need a reminder that nature can be breathtaking, come to the Scottish Highlands on a sunny day. I completely understand why people fall in love with Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. We got lucky with the weather, the hills were glowing, the wildflowers were out, and everywhere I looked felt like another postcard. Days like this make the long drive worth it every single time.✨💚

✨📍Luss was the first stop on my day trip from Glasgow to the Scottish Highlands, and it was prettier than I expected. It’s a small village on the shores of Loch Lomond, right in the heart of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. We had some time to wander around, admire the lovely cottages, take in the views across the loch and grab a coffee before carrying on into the Highlands. I can see why it’s one of the most popular stops around Loch Lomond.✨

✨Planning a trip to the Lake District 🇬🇧? Autumn is the best time of the year. I shared all the best places to visit.✨

🚘 If you’re driving, that’s definitely the easiest way to explore the Lake District. You can stay anywhere, but I’d recommend Keswick as a base, as it’s easy to reach all the main spots without too much driving. I’ve already shared the best parking spots, so you’re covered.

🚊 If you’re travelling by train, head to Windermere. You can either stay there or take the bus to Ambleside (around 20 minutes), which also makes a great base for exploring.

Enjoy your trip!💕

✨Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 is such a walkable city, but I still love staying somewhere central with great transport links, especially when I’m travelling alone.

I stayed at Thistle Suites | Edinburgh Serviced Apartments , right in the heart of the New Town. It’s around 5 minutes walk from Waverley Bridge, where you can catch the Airlink 100 directly to the airport, and just across the road from one of my favourite free museums in Edinburgh - the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.

The apartments are bright, spacious and fitted with everything you need, making them perfect for short or long stays, families, or even remote working.

They also offer free luggage storage, so if you have a late flight you can leave your bags safely and enjoy a few more hours exploring Edinburgh. Reception is staffed daily between 9am and 6pm too.✨

✅ And a little bonus - book directly using code THISTLE10 for 10% OFF your stay. 🥰

✨If you’re spending a few days in Glasgow or Edinburgh, a trip to the Scottish Highlands is the number one day trip I recommend. 🏔️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We travelled through some of the most beautiful Highland scenery, stopped in dramatic Glencoe and visited Loch Shiel and the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct - yes, the one you’ll recognise from Harry Potter. 🚂✨

✅ I booked this day trip from Glasgow through (use code IULIAGIULIA5 for 5% OFF), but it can also be done from Edinburgh.

🔖 Comment “TRIP” and I’ll send you the link to book it.

✨If you only have 24 hours in Glasgow, where should you start? 🇬🇧✨

For me, it was at ,a stylish base just a short walk from some of the city’s biggest attractions, like the fascinating Riverside Museum and the stunning Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

After a full day of exploring, it was the perfect place to unwind. The hotel’s modern design, vibrant atmosphere and skybar overlooking the River Clyde made it feel like part of the Glasgow experience, not just somewhere to sleep.

Glasgow surprised me with its creativity, culture and warm welcome, and I’d happily come back for more. ❤️

✨Kelvingrove Museum is easily one of the most beautiful museums in Glasgow, and many would say one of the UK’s finest. Its stunning Spanish Baroque architecture is worth the visit alone, but inside you’ll find everything from dinosaur skeletons and Egyptian artefacts to Salvador Dalí’s famous Christ of Saint John of the Cross.✨

And on top of that, entry is free. 🥰

💕Don’t forget to add it to your list if you plan a visit to Scotland.💕

✨Notting Hill is one of those places where every corner feels like it was made for a photograph 📸✨

➡️ Start your walk on Lancaster Road, where colourful pastel houses create one of London’s most iconic streets.

➡️ Then wander to St Luke’s Mews, a hidden cobbled lane filled with charming homes, flowers and the famous pink house featured in Love Actually.

➡️ For a taste of local life, explore All Saints Road, where independent cafés, restaurants and creative shops bring the neighbourhood to life.

➡️ Don’t miss Westbourne Park Road for elegant Victorian terraces and classic Notting Hill charm, or wander through Hillgate Village, where pastel cottages and leafy corners feel like a hidden London escape.

➡️ Head to Portobello Road - the beating heart of Notting Hill. Browse the colourful market stalls, discover vintage treasures, stop by the iconic Alice’s antique shop, and treat yourself to beautifully decorated biscuits at Biscuiteers Boutique and Icing Café.

➡️ For a quieter side of Notting Hill, explore Colville Terrace, where elegant white townhouses, greenery and wisteria-covered façades create the perfect dreamy London scene.

➡️ Nearby, Hillgate Village feels like stepping into a storybook, with candy-coloured cottages, curved streets and some of the prettiest doors in London.

➡️ End your walk on Portland Road, where design lovers will feel right at home.

💕Notting Hill is the best neighbourhood to get lost in.💕
