Kanya King has sadly passed away after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

Kanya was the founder of the MOBO Awards, a platform that was dedicated to uplifting and celebrating music of Black origin.

Kanya was a woman of faith, who often spoke about how it helped her get through different seasons of her life and career. She was a dear friend to the station and always ensured gospel music was given a platform at the MOBO Awards.

Thank you, Kanya, for all you’ve done for the community. May your legacy continue to live on. Our prayers are with family and friends.
