Ghana’s Entertainment Industry or Ghana Rage Bait Industry?

✍️ The Bonah Show

The Ghana entertainment space has entered a strange new era—one where controversy seems to matter more than creativity, and anger travels faster than actual entertainment. I suggest a new name for the sector: the Ghana Rage Bait Industry.

Why? Because the ecosystem now feels designed less to uplift audiences and more to provoke them. Shows, headlines, and online segments often lean heavily into exaggerated conflict, unnecessary drama, and attention-grabbing hot takes. The goal isn’t joy, excitement, or artistry anymore. Instead, it feels like the industry is built to spark your hate, not entertain your state.

Of course, not every creator or platform is guilty—there are still genuine entertainers pushing good content. But the loudest ones, the ones dominating timelines, are usually those who thrive on outrage. And sadly, outrage sells.

If Ghana’s entertainment industry wants to reclaim its original purpose, it may need to step back from the rage economy and return to what made it special in the first place: talent, storytelling, and true entertainment.

Until then, welcome to the age of rage bait.
