Throughout World War 2 death squads known as the Einsatzgruppen rampaged into German occupied lands and executed millions. They followed a very similar process with their ex*****ons and killings. After the German Army took a town or settlement, the Einsatzgruppen rounded up people for extermination. They then marched them to a secluded area and forced them to dig their own graves.
After this, the victims were led either into the pit or onto the edge of it where ex*****oners were waiting for them. They were either shot through a single neck shot, or they were shot by a firing squad who stood behind them. The horrors of the Einsatzgruppen was that it was incredibly terrifying, and also they were efficient. In two days at Babi Yar over 33,000 people were executed by them. This is how their ex*****ons worked.
