Your product doesn’t stop at the point of sale, but your business model probably does.

After checkout, products get resold, repaired, serviced, reused, creating value again and again.

The reality is, most of that value isn’t captured by the brand, and it’s not really designed for the customer either.

Brands lose visibility and revenue, while customers lose connection, trust, and access.

The experience ends too early, for both sides.

IoDF Platform’s Post-purchase commerce is about closing the gap, turning products into something that stays active, connected, and valuable over time.

For brands: new revenue, brand-operated resale, stronger relationships, real ownership of the lifecycle

For customers: authenticity, easier resale, direct access to care and services

With IoDF Platform the product becomes the channel.

Comment “DPP” and we will send you our connected product guide.

The future of commerce doesn’t end at checkout. We were invited by and to define what comes next: post-purchase commerce.

A shift from products as static objects, to connected systems that continue to generate value, meaning, and engagement over time.

As explored in the interview:
– Products become communication channels
– Ownership becomes participation
– Revenue doesn’t stop at sale, it evolves

“Every product you sell will keep generating revenue after checkout. The question is whether you operate that revenue or someone else does.” - co-founders

This is the infrastructure IoDF Platform is building, where Digital Product Passports move beyond compliance into culture, storytelling, and long-term value creation for both brands and consumers.

Most brands still make their money at the point of sale, but that’s not really where the value is anymore.

Products don’t just get sold and disappear. They get resold, repaired, passed on, worn again. There’s a whole layer of activity happening after checkout that brands aren’t part of.

That’s what’s starting to change.

With IoDF Platform, products are staying connected after they’re sold, which means the relationship doesn’t just end. Customers can prove something is real, resell it properly, access services, and stay connected over time.

This is post-purchase commerce. Not a feature, a different way of thinking about how products work.

IoDF Platform is working with a small group of brands on live POCs right now ahead of Fashion Month.

If you’re looking at DPPs or thinking about what happens after the sale:

The most important part of a product no longer happens at the sale, it happens after. Introducing Post-Purchase Commerce.

For years, brands have focused on getting the product into a customer’s hands. What happens next has largely been left unbuilt. But that’s where things are changing. Products are starting to stay connected after checkout, which means they can keep delivering value over time, not just at the moment they’re sold.

Think about everything that already happens:
Resale.
Repair.
Access.
Ongoing engagement.

Post-purchase commerce is about turning products into something you don’t just buy once, but something that continues to work for you, whether that’s through better services, easier resale, verified authenticity, or ongoing access.

This is the layer we’re building at IoDF Platform.

IoDF Briefing [02] We are back with another briefing, unpacking the latest 2026 Resale Report. Bringing you the latest insights on commerce and consumer behaviour.

If you’re reading this, you probably are already a part of this shift: Buying pre-loved and selling pieces you don’t wear.

The numbers are big.
Resale is projected to hit $393B by 2030,
and it’s currently growing much faster than retail.

But the real insight is consumer behaviour.
Around 60% of people now consider resale value before buying something new. Clothes don’t just sit in your wardrobe anymore, they move, and they hold value.

Right now, that experience isn’t always easy. It can feel fragmented, unclear, hard to trust.

What we are building with IoDF Platform helps to solve this. Resale will become more connected to the product itself, making it simpler, more transparent, and more useful for you.

Introducing IoDF Briefing. 📑
A weekly series helping you understand regulation, sustainability and fashion tech, without the noise.

We’re launching this series because the industry is overwhelmed. Policy is moving fast, information is fragmented, and most of it isn’t written for brands.

So we have decided to break it down. 💌

First drop:
The EU just released new information on Digital Product Passports. It’s 120+ pages long and it starts to define how DPP will actually be structured and rolled out.

This matters because it shows the direction of what brands will need to have in place from product data and supply chains, to repair, reuse and end-of-life.

The full breakdown is live on Substack. 📲

If your a brand who needs support comment “DPP” and we will send you access to the waitlist.
