Beauty and spa businesses using digital booking systems and AI-powered tools are generating significantly higher revenue than less digitally mature competitors, according to new research from Zenoti.

The company’s Beauty and Wellness Benchmark Report: Europe found that high-performing businesses generate up to £6,397 more per location per month (equivalent to around £76,000 annually) driven by stronger online booking adoption, improved retention and automated demand management.

The data also highlights a widening performance gap across the sector, with digitally advanced salons and spas reporting substantially higher online booking rates and rebooking performance compared with median operators.

At the same time, the report points to a structural shift in the industry: new client acquisition is declining, while revenue growth is increasingly driven by retention and operational efficiency.

Zenoti links much of the uplift to digital tools including online booking systems, automated waitlists and AI-powered booking assistants.

The full report breaks down where the biggest revenue opportunities now sit across salons, spas and aesthetic clinics.
