Please note update info

Neon Healthcare are NOT keeping a close eye on all stock leveks at various Alliance healthcare distribution depots

My pharmacist simply looked at his system to order drugs and it showed Nardil as RED out of stock not available so I sent a blazing leater to Stephen Harrison Neon Healthcare to call my pharmacist find out what Alliance depot had no stock

Please can you all contact Stephen Harrison by email :

Clearly state the name telephone number of your pharmacist and get him to call your pharmacist ASAP

Tell him in an email that if Neon Healthcare do NOT get on top of Alliance depot stocks across the entire U.K. you will contact myself by emailing me direct :

All I need is a brief sentence stating the name of pharmacy postcode and Telephone number and a screenshot of your nhs script .

I will then collate a file of all of the scripts not being fulfilled and send them to the press office of the MHRA and a few media contacts to start pressurising tabloids to write about how a drug company obtained U.K. license but simply cannot deliver the drug due to very poor administration on the distribution business side .

If Neon Healthcare simply cannot keep a close eye on Alliance depots stock levels then something must be seriously wrong here

I do know that EYRGEN Ireland are manufacturing the drug for Neon Healthcare and it’s is manufactured by Siegfried Pharma Switzerland

Andrew Lamb is my contact at Siegfried CH who is in charge of ordering the API and he is based here in the U.K.

Any problems with pharmacists simply email Stephen Harrison and pressurise him to call the pharmacist so he can sort out why the Alliance depot your pharmacist orders from is stocked with Nardil

Response from director of Neon healthcare U.K. after Hive Pharmscy U.K. simply could not get hold of stocks yet again and I wonder how transparent Neon are being as pharmacist being told that Neon are simply not able to acquire enough API to manufacture the drug

All U.K. Phenelzine Sulphate patients update !

Lupin pharma USA have ceased making Phenelzine Sulphate

That leaves Greenstone Pfizer the only manufacturer outside U.K.

I wrote today to an email to Lupin to try and get some clarification but heard just now from Canada support group run by Christine Bayens that Lupin have merged with Gavis so no more Nardil .

I was informed by Andrew Lamb Director for sourcing API Siegfried CH . who supply Pfizer USA that any pharma company applying for new licence for Nardil takes 4/5 years !

This is not a fast process

I think Neon are being economical with the truth here !

Why not come clean and be transparent about the length of time it takes any pharma company to acquire a U.K. license?

I am a freelance journalist with connections to many pharma companies who manufacture Phenelzine Sulphate in Switzerland Germany USA .

There is no shortage of API but I have learnt from Andrew Lamb that any pharma like yourself would need to procure the catalogue for requesting API to make this drug 2 years in advance .

So let’s discuss the timeframe here

Neon will need to place order for acquiring API at least 2 years ahead of planned manufacture and that is not including the wait time for your company to agree with U.K. MHRSA DHSS to acquire a licence .

It will take Neon a couple of years from now to get all this in motion .

That is the transparent reality of how long drug licenses take to obtain here in the U.K.

So why not be transparent about this to patients here in U.K. ?

If any U.K. NHS patients on Nardil are having problems with their GP funding the unlicensed Phenelzine sulphate my advice is to see a private psychiatrist who prescribes the drug and get them to write to your GP

No private psychiatrist will place new patients on Nardil sadly this seems to be the case right now

It costs the U.K. nhs £300 per month for a maintenance dose 15mg x 2 daily

If you take double this dose your GP will need to find out if his budget £600 per month for 60 mg daily of Phenelzine sulphate as unlicensed drug

£7.200 per annum and if the nhs do not fund your drug that is what it will cost you to stay on the drug

Update : just spoke to Ascot Pharma U.K. to person responsible for buying in Phenelzine sulphate .

He has no problems securing the salt from India and Europe !!

So Ascot will continue to manufacture the white capsule powder and the last figure given out by the DHSC was 1700 U.K. patients per month !!!

So you all can go to sleep tonight here in uk not worrying about shortage of the salt compound

I can only say if NICE get cute and nasty they could put a cap on the price

I have set up this group to support people who have been on NARDIL MAOI Drug ....

You are welcome to join this group only if you are on Nardil and having major problems procuring the unlicensed special NHS script

I so far have helped a lady in Canada procure emergency stock of her Nardil drug from EFRA . However sadly in Canada the government have not put in place an alternative on going supply as a compound formula like the U.K. department of health has .

Also I help a young man in his 20’s procure an MAOI drug in shortage here by speaking to his pharmacist who clearly just was not willing to help him procure drug . Instead the GP got involved with this pharmacist and we ended up using a different chemist who was willing to open an account with a designated U.K. drug wholesaler advised by our NHS .

So what I have written below demonstrates how many of you will experience hurdles hoops to jump through just to procure your scripts .

As you all know by now the UK pharmaceutical company Kyowa Kirin Ltd have ceased making Nardil.

The Department of health have urgently been in talks with Ascot Pharma Watford to manufacture a white powder capsule .

You can get your pharmacist to open an account with Ascot Pharma and email rakesh .com or Telephone : 01923 711971 ask to speak to Rakesh or Abdul Alam Director .

This laboratory are supplying Phenelzine sulphate as unlicensed powder capsule . Target Healthcare also manufacture the same white compound capsule in their U.K. laboratory called TeMag Pharma .

Many of us have been left having to apply to our CCG for funding as many local pharmacists refuse to procure drug on our nhs special scripts as they have to open account with U.K. Pharma wholesaler first pay up front to order in your drug then get reimbursed by medicines authority . So patients end up having to find a decent pharmacist first of all and get a sympathetic GP to prescribe an unlicensed special script of 6 months supply !!

In order to fulfil your drug it is not worth getting an nhs script for less than 6 months worth of drugs .

Try to explain to your GP that every time your pharmacist has to procure your script it takes weeks and you are very concerned that the white capsule compound Phenelzine Sulphate capsule stocks could be in short supply of these 2 laboratories cannot source the API drug . Phenelzine is very challenging to get hold of .

Reason being due to shortage and difficulty getting hold of Phenelzine sulphate every time you need to repeat the process of procuring the drug , your script is placed on back order !

So try to convince your GP for no less than 6 months supply !

The difference in the UK drug price of Nardil and Pfizer drug Phenelzine Sulphate is costing £280 per 60 tablets and capsule form has yet to be priced !!!

We have been left to ask our GP to issue a special prescription so we can find a helpful pharmacist to import from a uk wholesaler

Many pharmacists quizz people that they are not a bank but a pharmacist !

I am seeking likeminded people taking Nardil who have changed over to Phenelzine Sulphate drug .

Nardil users are well aware it is a dangerous drug to stop

Yet the UK NHS and drug resources have left many of us in limbo fighting to get funding !

We all need to create a group to stand together and campaign to get Kyowa Kirin to manufacture Nardil as soon as possible

We need to campaign to get all CCGs to fund the cost of importing the equivalent USA special Phenelzine Sulphate and fund Ascot Pharma white capsule here in the U.K. .

I received an email from the PA to the Chairman of U.K. Kyowa Kirin U.K. ltd . He wants to talk to me direct by phone to discuss about the many questions I submitted answer under the freedom of information act !!

I presume the chairman does not wish to place anything in writing !!

So calling me is his easier option but I am considering whether he will be willing to be interviewed for a film which Maddie Kitchen is producing .

I am sure many of you have seen Maddie Kitchens post on other Canadian Nardil Facebook site as well as Reddit and a MAOI what’s app group named MAOI chat V 2

If you have stumbled upon this page it is because I funded this page for Facebook to reach a wider daily audience

I am not intent to run a page to upstage the other Facebook Nardil support groups

It seems all of these U.K. authorities in charge of health and safety : Our U.K. health and social care and NHS England Press office respond by passing the buck !

It will be very interesting to see what the Chairman of Kyowa Kirin U.K. ltd has to say !
