The global economy is entering a period of transformation, marked by shifting priorities, emerging technologies, and changing consumer expectations. In this climate, certain market sectors are poised to stand out as engines of growth, innovation, and resilience. These areas are not only responding to immediate opportunities but are also laying the foundations for long-term success. Understanding where momentum is gathering in 2025 is essential.

One of the most dynamic areas shaping the year is green energy. The push towards sustainability is driving investment into renewable sources such as wind, solar, and hydro, as well as into technologies that enable storage and efficiency. The urgency of the climate agenda and the demand for cleaner alternatives mean that companies pioneering solutions in this space are positioned at the centre of economic transformation. Energy is no longer viewed as simply a utility but as a strategic asset tied to the future health of the planet and the stability of markets.

Innovation has become the lifeblood of modern business. In 2025, the companies and leaders who thrive are those who cultivate an innovation mindset one that goes beyond surface-level creativity and embeds transformation into the DNA of the organisation. This way of working is no longer about a few departments experimenting with new ideas but about entire cultures designed to nurture ingenuity, agility, and forward-thinking strategies. The innovation mindset to watch this year is defined by a blend of adaptability, inclusivity, sustainability, and technological fluency.

Historically, innovation was treated as a process confined to research and development, or as a luxury reserved for moments of stability. In today’s climate, however, it has become clear that innovation must be a culture, not a silo. The innovation mindset is about embedding curiosity, experimentation, and risk tolerance into everyday business practices. Organisations that embrace this ethos are shifting from a project-based view of innovation to a systemic approach, where ideas can emerge from any level and be nurtured into meaningful change.

In the life sciences industry, the digital revolution has arrived not with fanfare, but with quiet precision. It is transforming the way pharmaceutical and biotech companies design, construct and operate their facilities. At the centre of this transformation is , a globally operating end to end solution provider that has evolved from pipe fitting to developing fully digital, data driven production ecosystems for some of the world’s most complex manufacturing environments.

The company’s trajectory is remarkable. Fifteen years ago, ZETA was a modest business of around one hundred employees, primarily focused on piping and mechanical installation. Today, it is a global player with more than two thousand people and a reputation for advancing the digitalisation of pharmaceutical engineering. Its evolution has been shaped by a simple but powerful principle: everything in engineering, from concept to operation, should one day connect seamlessly through data.

In the rapidly evolving world of pharmaceuticals and life sciences, the boundaries between research, development, and manufacturing are being redrawn. At the centre of this shift is Helbling, whose closed-loop manufacturing (CLM) model is changing how laboratories transition from experimentation to full-scale production. The concept introduces a new level of continuity, connecting every stage of product and process design through a single digital framework.

For Sébastien Martin, Head of Digital Transformation at Helbling, this evolution is not about adding technology for its own sake, but about creating meaningful integration. “We aim to position ourselves as the interface between senior management, business, and technology.”
