In celebration of Black History Month, we look back two years to our unforgettable evening hosting Dr. Julius W. Garvey, son of Marcus Garvey, at our old unit 247.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, on August 16, 1933, Dr. Garvey is a distinguished surgeon and medical professor who’s not only excelled in his field but has carried forward his parents’ legacy of activism and upliftment.

This event, made possible by the Marcus Garvey Legacy Trust, was a testament to the enduring spirit of Black history and its impact on all generations.
