The joy I felt while connecting with the kids during the Timeout4africa Basketball Clinic is beyond words.

From teaching them the fundamentals of basketball to sharing laughter and fun, every second was a treasure.

I must say, the energy and excitement from the kids during the games and clinic were contagious.

Thank you, Jonathan Kolo, and everyone in Minna for the warm reception and the privilege to be part of this inspiring process of enriching childhood through education and basketball.

Usman Fahad "Kuruma" : A Beacon of Inspiration at Timeout4africa Basketball Week!

Usman Fahad, mostly called "Kuruma," has taken center stage as the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 Timeout4Africa Basketball Week!

Overcoming the challenges of being non verbal and hearing impaired, Usman led his team to an incredible championship victory, standing out among nearly 300 young athletes.

His story is one of inspiration, testament to the power of resilience and determination and proof that remarkable achievements are possible despite life's hurdles.

We must also recognize the incredible work being done by Jonathan Kolo through Timeout4Africa in creating an inclusive platform where children like Usman can flourish.

Timeout4africa is enriching childhood through education and basketball.

During the women’s league last year, I had the privilege of getting to know Nathan closely and working with him as well.

In the short time we spent together, I can confidently say that Nathan is one of the most humble, respectful, and brilliant minds I’ve ever met.

His incredible articulation brought a unique flavor to the games, especially for online viewers, and the level of engagement he created was nothing short of remarkable.

Today is his birthday, and I’d like you to join me in celebrating this exceptionally talented young man.

I'm Grateful for mercy, and grace I embrace,
I'm thankful for trials that shaped my pace and the struggles that have strengthen me.

Thank God for my family, and the friends who stand near, for all of the blessings that bring me such cheer.

And for all of the favor that has come my way,
I lift up my heart in thanks every day.
Thank God for my 1st year and now my 29th, I I'm thankful for life and each moment I've had.

I've always thought of Sharon Ogharanduku as a genuinely nice person, but getting the chance to work closely with her on the Power Forward Project and more recently on the Royal Access Women's Basketball team has truly deepened my appreciation for her.

Sharon is an exceptional leader who is fully dedicated to the success of any team she finds herself. She's intelligent, hardworking, and consistently brings positive energy to every situation.

Most of all, her great sense of humor and joyful spirit make her a pleasure to be around.

We all have a role in driving the change we desire, and individuals like Ammani Dolee are at the forefront of this effort in their local community.

Just a few weeks ago, he organized a basketball tournament at his alma mater, which brought together participants from each class, engaging 144 students directly and inspiring the entire school community with basketball.

This exciting event spanned two weeks and included not only the championship game but also an all-star game and a recognition award ceremony.

Ammani is a trained NBBF referee, and even though he is still gaining experience, he is already mentoring younger referees and sharing his expertise. This truly highlights his selflessness.

Join me to celebrate Ammani’s achievements and his birthday today. Here’s to many more years ahead, and I wish you all the best that life has to offer! ,🎉🎂🏀
