12/02/2022
My name is Linda Lusingu and I am standing to be one of the Labour Councillors in Friern Barnet at the upcoming local elections on 5 May 2022.
Why I want to be your representative:
I want to contribute to the local community and to take forward issues on your behalf. I understand the challenges most of you face because I am a resident and, like you, I am affected by the very same issues - rising cost of living, transportation, personal safety, suitable & affordable housing, and poor air/water quality.
I feel strongly that we as residents are listened to and that the council acts in the best interest of all the residents in Barnet.
Diversity and Equality:
Fair representation is crucial - there will not be equity unless everybody has a seat at the table. I feel strongly that Barnet Council must reflect the rich diversity of this Borough.
What I will do if I am elected:
- alongside my ward colleagues(Cllr Barry Rawlings and Cllr Pauline Coakley-Webb), I will be visible and accessible to the residents by holding regular surgeries in various locations in the ward, and be available by email.
- work with residents to link community groups and ensure that we help each other by working collectively
- I have a particular interest in education and look forward to engaging with schools and other educational organisations in the ward
I will be knocking on your doors between now and the local elections in May 2022. I would love to meet you and hear from you on how we can work together.
I look forward to meeting you.
Please give me your vote.
