Places I love coming back to, again and again

Priory Park, Bath
One of my favourite peaceful corners of Bath. I love coming here for a slow walk and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings away from the busier parts of the city.

Coastguard Cottages, Seven Sisters Country Park
My favourite viewpoint in Seven Sisters Country Park. The little cottages overlooking the cliffs and the sea make this one of those places I could photograph over and over again.

Kenwood House, London
One of my favourite places in London for a quiet escape. I love wandering around the house and its beautiful grounds, especially when I want to forget that I’m still in the middle of London.

Blenheim Palace
A place where history feels very much alive. The birthplace of Winston Churchill, this magnificent palace and its grounds are somewhere I always enjoy returning to — there’s always another corner, another view or another piece of history to discover.

Chawton, Hampshire — Jane Austen
One of my favourite literary places in England. If you’re a Jane Austen fan, Jane Austen’s House is an absolute must-visit — the house where she lived and wrote some of her most famous works. And don’t miss Chawton House, the historic manor house nearby, surrounded by beautiful gardens and countryside.

Here are 10 travel experiences in Britain that I’ll never forget — each for a different reason. Some were completely unexpected, some were deeply personal, and some simply left me standing there thinking, “Wow, I can’t believe I’m actually here.”

These are not necessarily the “best” places I’ve visited. They’re the experiences that stayed with me.

It was 2 January, and I went to Norfolk to see the seals.

I was incredibly lucky because there were so many of them. They were everywhere — swimming in the water, lying on the beach, popping their heads up.

I honestly wasn’t prepared for how much joy I would feel watching them. They were so unbelievably cute, and I remember just standing there completely fascinated.

It was one of those experiences that gives you pure, uncomplicated happiness.

The beach was Horsey Gap.

This was such a unique experience because we weren’t just visiting Seven Sisters — we were actually staying inside the Country Park.

The area is protected because of its ecosystem, so you can’t simply drive there. Access is restricted and you can only get there with special permission.

We stayed in an old cottage surrounded by the landscape, and in the mornings there were wild animals walking around the house.

It felt incredibly cinematic — like waking up inside the countryside rather than simply visiting it.

We went to Llanddwyn Island in North Wales because of its incredible lighthouse. The whole place was unbelievably beautiful.

At some point, we decided to have a picnic near the shore and were sitting there taking photos when we suddenly realised that the tide was coming in.

The water started surrounding us, and very quickly we found ourselves on this little circle of land, with the sea between us and the way back.

It was beautiful, but also slightly terrifying because we suddenly realised we had to walk through the water to get out. We had a lot of equipment with us, which made it a little more difficult, a minute after we got out of the water, that compartment was gone.

I spent two days in the Lake District visiting Windermere and Ullswater.

I took boats a

This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in England. The dramatic change in elevation creates a breathtaking view of the Palladian Bridge. The park is about a 20-minute walk from Bath city centre, or you can take the No. 2 bus. And don’t leave without treating yourself to a traditional cream tea — freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, served with a pot of tea after your walk.
