Nappy bins - not the most exciting topic admittedly however, you will want to make sure you’ve stocked up on nappy bin refills/cassettes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Replacements can become quite costly, so we recommend purchasing non-branded refills/liners, which are much cheaper. Cassette refills are of course easier to use since you just have to pop them into the bin. However, the cheaper solution comes with biodegradable bags, and with no plastic cassette, you will have a more environmentally-friendly alternative. 🧷

“Hi, I’m Ed, father to Eli Jasper, born July 24th 2020, mid-pandemic. So yes, I am a pandemic daddy… or as I like to call it a ‘Pandaddy’. I debated as to whether I should comment upon covid in all of this, given I think it has had too much air time, but I think it’s important to honour it as a first-time father. To compare it to any other sense of fatherhood is impossible given it is my first time, but I want to go on the record to say that 2020 was one of the best years of my life! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Covid certainly played its part in our experience and I could list lots of negatives, but actually, I feel totally privileged as a father, having spent every single day with him, through a period where I may have otherwise been trying to work. That bond and time is absolutely priceless, I believe it’s a lot deeper than if there wasn’t a pandemic. So while covid and lockdown was terrible globally, it played a majorly positive role in my new fatherhood. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I do think the world, the western world specifically, needs to address its relationship with parenthood and what that represents so that fathers do get the ability to have a rich, deeper, longer experience at the early stages of birth.” - Ed

The breastfeeding pressure is real! So many people asked if I was planning to breastfeed, which was only made more annoying when they then tried to convert me when I said "maybe" or "I'll try but I won't put pressure on myself." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take on board people’s advice, but remember you can do it your way without any feeling of guilt. As long as baby is fed, no matter breast or bottle, then that’s the most important thing.

Did you know that a ‘Witching Hour’ is an actual thing with almost all babies?

So, if you notice your little one gets a bit more fussy or restless around a similar time each day (usually late afternoon/early evening) then this might be why!

Like most things, this is just a normal phase that should pass - hang on in there!

“Getting a routine in early was important for us and rather than jumping in 100% we started with the bath time routine first which helped centre the day. Also once we moved onto formula we found using a digital prep machine really helped time save. Ours was second hand, we very rarely buy new as they grow out of things so quickly. Best money we've spent so far." - Rebecca Rabbitts

No matter how hard we try, somehow we all end up with two full suitcases when packing for the hospital. Although a lot of these things may not be ENTIRELY necessary, they can provide a little peace of mind – which is definitely essential before giving birth!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This week's Get Set Tip allows you to bring all those beloved bits and bobs, without taking up all that precious space! We recommend buying travel-sized toiletries or decant the ones you already have into smaller containers - so simple but seriously a game changer!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
