I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. I know the manโ€™s mind, his courage, and his conviction. He is not driven by applause, he is driven by results. And today, I can boldly say to you that he is on the right track.

For the first time in our nationโ€™s history, we have a President who truly understands finance, who sees the economy not as a political slogan, but as a living organism that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed to breathe.

The painful reforms we face today are the very foundation of tomorrowโ€™s prosperity. We are moving into a free-market economy, one that rewards hard work and innovation instead of dependency and distortion.

Look around you: under this administration, the appointment of the National Security Adviser has redefined our national safety architecture. Insecurity is being quietly and systematically dismantled. The Central Bank, now professionally steered, is stabilizing the economy, rebuilding confidence, and restoring the dignity of the naira.

Our foreign policy is again respected. Our fuel supply is deregulated. We will never again live through the humiliation of fuel scarcity. The numbers are beginning to speak, investments are returning, and the world is watching Nigeria rise again.

And beyond economics, Bola Tinubuโ€™s infrastructural drive is unprecedented; from massive road networks to modernized ports, airports and housing schemes springing up across the nation. These developments are not just concrete and steel; they are the arteries through which growth and opportunity now flow.

I know it is still a difficult season for many families. But as history teaches, reform is never painless. Yet, it is in these moments of sacrifice that nations are reborn.

That is why today, I am joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), not for politics, but for progress. Because I believe that Bola Tinubuโ€™s leadership, guided by courage and intellect, will deliver the Nigeria we have all dreamed of.

Mark my words: in the full term of eight years, Nigeria will witness phenomenal growth. I choose to stand with that vision. I choose to stand with reform. I choose to stand with the future.

Thank you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, describing it as "an assembly of forgers, impostors, and morally bankrupt individuals masquerading as public servants". This statement follows the resignation of Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over allegations of certificate forgery. Atiku expressed disappointment that Nnaji was allowed to quietly resign instead of facing prosecution, which he believes is a sign of the administration's lack of accountability.

Atiku's criticism extends to the Department of State Services (DSS), questioning its credibility in vetting government officials. He pointed out the agency's contradictory decisions in screening out Nasir El-Rufai over security concerns while clearing Nnaji despite alleged forgery. Atiku demanded a thorough investigation into the academic and professional credentials of all Federal Executive Council members, starting with President Tinubu himself, citing the president's own controversies surrounding his identity, age, and academic records.

Atiku's reaction highlights growing concerns about integrity and accountability in the Tinubu administration. Many Nigerians are calling for a more transparent and honest government. Atiku warned that without a thorough investigation and cleansing, Nigeria will continue to sink deeper into moral decay, economic ruin, and global embarrassment. He emphasized that those in power must be held accountable for their actions and that their credentials should be scrutinized.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES FORMER VICE PRESIDENT NAMADI SAMBO ON HIS TURBANING AS SARDAUNAN ZAZZAU

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rejoices with the former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on Saturday, October 11.

President Tinubu notes that the title of Sardaunan Zazzauโ€”a position of great cultural and historical significance in Northern Nigeriaโ€”reflects the Emirate's confidence in the former Vice President's wisdom, integrity, and commitment to society's progress.

The President describes the honour as a recognition of Sambo's exemplary leadership and contributions to national development.

The President acknowledges Sambo's record of humility, statesmanship and dedication to humanity, noting that his well-deserved investiture as Sardaunan Zazzau further underscores his deep-rooted service to his community and the nation.

President Tinubu also commends the Emir of Zazzau for upholding the noble tradition of honouring individuals whose character, leadership, and patriotism embody the Emirate's values and reflect the spirit of unity, service, and integrity.

While wishing the former Vice President success in his new traditional role, President Tinubu urges him to continue inspiring and guiding the younger generation, and to work closely with traditional and community leaders to advance peace and development in the country.

10/10/2025

Earlier today in Abuja, I met with former President Goodluck Jonathan to discuss the continued incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

President Jonathan agreed that there is an urgent and compelling need to address this matter decisively and justly. I thank him sincerely for recognizing the importance of resolving Kanuโ€™s case in the interest of peace, fairness, and national healing. Particularly assuring was that he promised to meet Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to discuss this issue as soon as possible.

With this, former President Jonathan joins a growing list of Nigerians who have called for justice in Nnamdi Kanuโ€™s case, a list that already includes ex Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Femi Falana SAN, Senator Shehu Sani, and many others across political and regional divides.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu remains in detention today because he took up the just cause of confronting the long-standing issue of marginalization in Nigeria. Like other ethnic and regional activists whose politically motivated cases have been withdrawn or dismissed, Nnamdi Kanu should also be released without further delay.

I once again call on all political, cultural, ethnic, and religious leaders across Nigeria to join this noble cause. In particular, I invite my brothers and sisters from the South East Mr. Peter Obi, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, ALEX C OTTI, Francis Nwifuru, Peter Mbah, Hope Uzodinma, Obiageli Ezekwesili, John Mbata of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide as well as Nigerians of conscience everywhere, to lend their voices to the call for justice and freedom.

Nnamdi Kanu should be set free.
And I remain firmly committed to peacefully mobilizing for justice and freedom in this matter.

There are a lot of grey areas in this Prof Joash Ojo Amupitan's CV as put forward in the Statehouse Press Release signed by Mr Bayo Onanuga.
Let me speak to just a few of them for now:
1. He was born in 1967. There's no problem in that.
2. 'After completing primary and secondary education', he attended Kwara state Polytechnic... from 1982 to 1984.
Note: we are neither told the names of the primary and secondary schools he attended, nor the time lines of his attendance.
Moreover, by 1982 when he was said to have attended the Kwara state Polytechnic; he was just 15. How did he do it back then? Maybe if we have the details of his primary and secondary schools attendance, we would have better understanding. Additionally, what did he study at the Polytechnic?
3. He attended University of Jos 1984-1987 to study law.
How did he get a law degree in Nigeria within 3 years? Law is 5 years.
4. He got his PhD in 2007.
But he became the Head (of Department) of Public Law 2006-2008, and Dean of the Law Faculty 2008-2014. That means that he became the Head of Department before earning his PhD, and the Dean of faculty one year after his PhD. How did these happen in a federal university, not even in a mushroom private university?
I have a fair understanding of the academic. Such things don't happen. I believe the people who packaged this CV owe us more explanation of the missing links in the CV.
