A Magical Illusion or a Bright Future? ✨
This week's Pick of the Week is chosen by Sanja.

"I find today's clip highly symbolic. It captures a group of Saudi schoolboys leaving their school building and disappearing into the sunlight. There is an ethereal quality to the scene as their white thobes linger in the doorway before being absorbed by the brightness outside.

The imagery suggests a bright future awaiting them after school. At the same time, the white thobes and headscarves give the scene a ghostly feel, subtly hinting at the fading of childhood with the end of school."

πŸ¦… International Vulture Awareness Day: Griffon Vulture in Focus

With an incredible wingspan of up to 2.8 metres, the griffon vulture is one of nature's most impressive soaring birds. Found across Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia, these majestic birds ride thermals high above open landscapes, often gathering in large groups to roost and breed.

Far from being a bad omen, griffon vultures play a vital role in keeping ecosystems healthy. By feeding on animal carcasses, they help prevent the spread of disease and act as nature's clean-up crew.

While populations have faced challenges from poisoned bait and other human-related threats, increased conservation efforts, education, and awareness are helping these magnificent birds recover and continue their essential work.

πŸ¦… Celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day by learning more about these misunderstood kings of the sky.
