Mark Zuckerberg was only 22 years old when he was offered $1 billion by Yahoo to sell Facebook. At that time, Yahoo was valued at $40 billion and was sitting comfortably at the market leadership cadre as an internet gladiator followed by Google.

As good as the offer was, he rejected it on the prognosis that Facebook possesses the capacity to dominate the social media and tech world in the foreseeable future. He allowed his vision to incubate and interact with the elements of time and hard work.

11 years later, Yahoo was sold to Verizon in 2017 for $4.48 billion. As Yahoo kept waning in media influence, it lost the niches it had created and is currently viewed as a former media and emailing powerhouse.

Today, Facebook is valued at $1.27 trillion with over 3 billion active monthly users as against Yahoo's $15 billion valuation.

Even with the introduction of content monetization, Facebook's net profit stood at $62.3 billion in 2024 alone.

I am just trying to underscore the enormous benefits of sticking to the crucibles of vision even when it is tested on the highway of monetary temptation.
